Hey !
Was kind of busy so couldn't see and respond back.
I have not yet reached 30K mark, so would be great if you can share servicing details if you did it.

Update : :

Well, no issues so far. Car is running great, no problem encountered.

Odometer stands at 26000+
And Mileage is a constant 21-23 km/ltr in city driving conditions with 100% AC.

Also, updated the HU Firmware to 1740 Beta, and with it now Android Auto works perfectly. The biggest advantage being the google maps is a delight on HU screen.

More details on how to do it, or steps are there on one of the forums here.

About 11 seconds. I have not timed it, neither do I plan on drag racing. Better check some online reviews.

Thanks, I will check another thread. It can't be 11 seconds as the Vento TSI is in that territory. Also, 0-100 is not just for drag racing. It's a very practical aspect of a car, especially on a highway.

re: Maruti Ciaz ZDi+ SHVS - Ownership Review at 60,000 km!

Got my 30000 KM service done today.

Few highlights:

1. The EGR Valve cleaning is now part of the standard 30/60/90 kKM service. The service charge is now Rs. 2790/-. See attached. Sorry for the bad resolution but the original was kind of bad.

2. Normal Service done. No whims and fancies. Wheel A/B will be done from outside, maybe next weekend.

Are you using mineral oil ? 228 per liter looks very reasonable - not opted for semi synthetic or fully ?

No idea!
In fact the official Ciaz thread has a reference, but that is I think from Chandigarh - you'll have to hunt down in multiple pages.

Also, what would be the status of warranty after wiring and all ? I am myself thinking of going for it, but waiting for 4 years to complete so that it's out of warranty period.

Hi ptaneja.

Two queries, about the headlights of your Ciaz:

1. What difference do you see between the light throw of SX4 and Ciaz?

2. Have you done anything to improve the light throw of Ciaz in high beam?

Hey Rahul!
SX4 was way better than Ciaz with respect to light throw. In Ciaz, when high beam is enabled, the difference in throw and brightness is about 20/30% or so.

I have not yet done anything regarding upgrade, as my night driving is almost negligible for now. Moreover, I am not willing to risk warranty issues with relays and so on...and I am inclined to think that just upgrading the bulb alone would not make much of a difference ( Osram Night breaker etc )

re: Maruti Ciaz ZDi+ SHVS - Ownership Review at 60,000 km!

This time thought of spending Diwali away from pollution and chaos - so a quick short trip to the hills yet again. About 900kms both sides travel, almost empty roads...

Some random snaps

At Murthal

On the road - no traffic, lovely roads all the way, till you reach road widening project. Also saw multiple sections where leftover crops stubble was being burned - this is right next to highways, imagine a scenario way deeper in villages.

Perfect RPM match - 100kms @2k RPM. SX4 was 80kms @2k RPM.

But it pains to see the level of deforestation and cutting down of trees - all because of an excuse to make the highway from Parwanoo to Shimla 4 laned. With just minor rainfall, we can see the landslides/mountain rocks coming down to newly constructed road. Trees which were HUGE were uprooted - and they are in thousands. I have been travelling along this road since last decade, and I never felt a need to make it 4 laned - of course the main city of Shimla and approach is crowded - but this is just plan nut job they are doing.

Much deserved wash on reaching the destination.

On the way back, had a nasty puncture as soon as I entered Delhi border. Though I must have been going at 100 or so, but suddenly started hearing click-click noise from the tyre. On inspecting, it was not a nail, but a BIG NUT with screw - these things don't even have any pointed side, but still it managed to puncture the wall -dead in the center of tyre tread !!

Changed the tyre ( spare is a non alloy - and smaller too - R15, 185) - for the first time after completing 2 years! Got the puncture repaired - lets see if it holds.

Here is the nasty piece of metal

With the car completing 2 years, and 28000 kms, following is the breakdown related to cost incurred so far.
