re: Maruti Ciaz ZDi+ SHVS - Ownership Review at 60,000 km!

A small update !

One more highway trip concluded at the end of the year.

Route that was followed - NCR > Ambala > Solan > Chail > Kufri > Fagu > Narkanda > Kasauli > NCR

We started off pretty early, around 4:30 or so, and encountered fog after leaving the capital region.

Overall the mileage figure after approx 950kms both ways ended with 25.4km/ltr...I am just in love with these mileage figures, 1600 something of fuel for whole trip....just awesome

Few snaps -

First stop at a highway Dhaaba, paratha's and tea !

Fog soon after NCR region, dropping the speed to 60 - 80kms/hr

Yet another stoppage on the way -

Heartiest congratulations Sir. Lovely colour and I must admit, I look forward to your updates.

The mileage figures you are getting is truly awesome. Mind-blowing.

One question- With a full load of passengers and luggage, does the rear suspension sag too much?? Also do let me know how is the ground clearance compared to your erstwhile SX4??

Regards,
Shashi

Thanks Shashi !
While purchasing, I was calculating around 18 to 20km/ltr - anything above that is a sure shot bonus

It does sag when boot is full, and 3 adults are at back - but till date have never scrapped any speedbreaker. Compared to SX4, suspension is on a softer side, which means that family members don't complain about they bouncing up and down when you are at 100km/hr speed on highway.

Hi ptaneja & others, I too have recently purchased a SHVS ZDi+ and would like to thank you for this post as I have read this multiple times for more info on the car. I must say that I love driving the car but it is yet too early for me to comment.
Thanks once again!

re: Maruti Ciaz ZDi+ SHVS - Ownership Review at 60,000 km!

Phewww !! Awesome day today … Did a washing, drying, polishing and hand buffing of my brown beauty. I have never ever washed a car, leave alone polishing and buffing. I was very apprehensive if I would be able to do it myself. But with help from some strong advice from Team Bhp and few awesome youtube videos, I could accomplish it without many issues except some fatigue. Dil khush khushan .. Really very very happy today.

re: Maruti Ciaz ZDi+ SHVS - Ownership Review at 60,000 km!

I have not driven too far with her. Once it was a whole day Agra trip and the second was a trip to Karna Lake, Karnal.
Agra trip was awesome. Experienced 3500-4000 RPMs on Yamuna expressway to gain 135-140 KMPH of speed at one point. No bubbling, no unstability, no fear of lag. Since I am a conservative driver I drove around 90-100 KMPH for 99.99% of the travel on Yamuna Expressway. One because of the high speed fear and two avoid challan on the next toll. It was only on a small stretch that I pedaled the climax.
The Karnal trip was also good. The car experienced extra load during the travel. 5 adults, 2 kids and some luggage. My heart goes out for the extra strain that she had to take. But it was an unfortunate event of one car break-down and hence all the other cars had to share the load. The traffic was bad but still managed to drive well.

Pic before the Karnal Trip! Horses ready for the race.
Maruti Ciaz ZDi+ SHVS - Ownership Review at 60,000 km!-11.jpg

In a nut shell I would say that while Agra was a test of power, karnal was a test of torque.
Disclaimer: I don’t have extensive knowledge of power, torque and speed. They are just relative to my experience.

Brown Color - Had it not been grey for me, this would have been my next option. Excellent Workout !! It shows the effort by the shine ...though on the other hand I am in opposite view of this - in my opinion I let this shine/polish/rubbing etc to the guys doing it, and I'll concentrate and enjoy my driving !

But, nevertheless, do share the components you have used ?

Do keep pitching in with updates !

re: Maruti Ciaz ZDi+ SHVS - Ownership Review at 60,000 km!

An update - Second Free Servicing was carried out . Nothing much to write about for this, no fluids were changed (as I had already changed the engine oil @1000kms mark)

Did a top up of Battery Water, Coolent.

Washing was done - though not upto the mark, but couldn't help it.

Even didn't took a snap - all process was completed in under 2 hours.

re: Maruti Ciaz ZDi+ SHVS - Ownership Review at 60,000 km!

Couple of Quick Updates !

First, on a recent inter city trip, I noticed that the car was not switching OFF at red lights (because of SHVS) ...on the other hand, while driving, SHVS light did came ON and OFF as it always did ! Whole 30 odd kms covered, and the car did not turned OFF even once when it was stationary and in neutral gear.
On reaching home, noticed the boot lid open - I did opened it to fill in the windshield water, and I guess forgot to close it shut.
Summary of the story being - for the car to properly follow SHVS, make sure your doors & boot lid are closed shut !

Second, had the first puncture at 5500kms approx , thanks to lovely government roads

re: Maruti Ciaz ZDi+ SHVS - Ownership Review at 60,000 km!

Great to your car crossing the Second free servicing... I am also inching towards the 3000 K mark.

Regarding the idle start stop, i also noticed that it does not work when the defoggers are ON; even if one of them is ON. Just FYI!

I drive in B2B traffic most of the time and am getting a 18 KMPL as per the indicator. How about you?

Choked traffic at my place and shift timing as well - MID shows 23.9 as of now.

But its not that whole travel is in traffic, in one tankful I approx travel 150/200kms on highway - so maybe that helps to average out the mileage.

How do you pay for a single round of shining/polishing/rubbing etc? How frequently do you do it?

re: Maruti Ciaz ZDi+ SHVS - Ownership Review at 60,000 km!

Hi TeamBHPians,

This to update all my fellow friends about my recent trip to MASS for cleaning cum washing and the anti-rust undercoating. Though I cannot comment on the anti-rust undercoating yet but I am surely NOT satisfied with the cleaning and washing. I am NOT going to do it again in a MASS. I will try other options like Shell Car Care (Sec 34 Noida), ExpressCarWash (Sector 5 Noida) etc.

Vaccuming of the car interiors. Sad to see that it is all done manually and not in a way that it should done. The automatic machine is out of order for a long time.

Maruti Ciaz ZDi+ SHVS - Ownership Review at 60,000 km!-1_fotor_collage.jpg

Underbody washing. This was again another superficial work which was done. Later the dirt was removed using a wet cloth at the drying stage.

Maruti Ciaz ZDi+ SHVS - Ownership Review at 60,000 km!-2.jpg

The foaming and washing in progress. They claim to use 3M shampoos but did not find any trace of them nearby. They poured liquids from black and blue Jerry cans.

Maruti Ciaz ZDi+ SHVS - Ownership Review at 60,000 km!-2_fotor_collage.jpg

Same thing happened during the drying phase. I did not see any of the branded products. They used some liquids from some trash bottles which they claim to be again 3M products. When I asked them more details about the products, they started giggling and avoiding the questions. Very unprofessional!!

Maruti Ciaz ZDi+ SHVS - Ownership Review at 60,000 km!-3_fotor_collage.jpg

I opted for anti-rust undercoating only because it was from 3M. They charged me Rs. 2000 and gave me 2 years warranty with 4 six-monthly checks. I found it to be a good deal and opted for it. The offer from 3M which they do in their premises was Rs. 4000 for 4 years warranty but the 3M location is 50 KMs far from my place and hence opted the MASS one.

Maruti Ciaz ZDi+ SHVS - Ownership Review at 60,000 km!-4_fotor_collage.jpg
My car going up the hydraulic jacks.
I inspected the under body and found things to be OK until …..

Maruti Ciaz ZDi+ SHVS - Ownership Review at 60,000 km!-5.1.jpg

.. my eyes spotted the scratch. I instantly remembered a speed bump kiss during the return from my karnal trip. My heart sunk for that.

Maruti Ciaz ZDi+ SHVS - Ownership Review at 60,000 km!-5.2.jpg

The underbody was air blown for removing any dust or water.

Maruti Ciaz ZDi+ SHVS - Ownership Review at 60,000 km!-6.jpg

This is the 3M product which they used. I broke the seal myself just to be on the safer side and made sure that they are refilling the spray from that bottle.

Maruti Ciaz ZDi+ SHVS - Ownership Review at 60,000 km!-7_fotor_collage.jpg

They used the whole bottle for the car and claimed that “aapke liye to sirji humne aur thoda jyada hi laga diya tha” (Just for you we have used little more than a bottle).

The under body is being sprayed with the protection.

Maruti Ciaz ZDi+ SHVS - Ownership Review at 60,000 km!-8.jpg

Half way done …

Maruti Ciaz ZDi+ SHVS - Ownership Review at 60,000 km!-9_fotor_collage.jpg

Half way done and a second coating done ..

Maruti Ciaz ZDi+ SHVS - Ownership Review at 60,000 km!-10.jpg

The end result ..

Maruti Ciaz ZDi+ SHVS - Ownership Review at 60,000 km!-11_fotor_collage.jpg

Finally the polishing of the car using 3M polishing liquid.

Maruti Ciaz ZDi+ SHVS - Ownership Review at 60,000 km!-12.1.jpg

Maruti Ciaz ZDi+ SHVS - Ownership Review at 60,000 km!-12_fotor_collage.jpg

The final output !!!! Not very happy but still OK ..

Maruti Ciaz ZDi+ SHVS - Ownership Review at 60,000 km!-13_fotor_collage.jpg

Now friends, I have a few queries that I wanted to discuss and gain knowledge about.

1. Does Maruti give gifts to customer after the delivery date? I met someone who claimed to have received a gift 4 weeks after the delivery of the car. Anyone else?

2. While the car was on the hydraulic I noticed some cement marks which we could not be removed even after some effort. Can anyone suggest how to remove them?
