New parking sensors;

The installation of the new sensors which i ordered from ebay is done

The sensors were bought from ebay @ Rs 900 & the Installation cost was Rs 300 at a local accessory shop.

Overall im satisfied with the quality of the kit & it does do justice for its price, BUT to be honest the sensors do get confused sometimes when there are more than 2 objects behind. The sensors perform the best when there is straight wall or a car parked behind & not a 3rd object.

The display was also a part of the kit. It not only gives a digital read out of the distance but also shows where the object is (i.e. Left or Right);

The parking sensors are damn cheap! I like the display with meter indicator.

Is it available in black? Could you please PM me or share the link here? Folks at home will really find it useful in our black Aspire.

Thanks

Dear Karan,

You should know that you are a great manipulator.

I was on the way to book Maruti Suzuki Baleno Zeta variant (despite of 3 months waiting), but just the day before it I saw your video and it changed my decision.

You are the reason , today I am a proud owner of All New Ford Figo Diesel (Titanium) and I would like to thank you for your video.

Niti.

Excellent. Thanks for the link as I was looking for this particular accessory for my Aspire. It's a shame that top-end Aspire does not come with this as part of stock feature

Nicely done. Now click photos of the wiring and connectors I'm planning a DIY, and I need to know where the wires need to be joined. And how.

I've also found a hole free reverse sensor on ebay.com.

Just search on ebay.in for 'reverse parking sensor'

You'll find lots of them in various colours. It's a universal fit for all cars.

You might not get it in your blue... 😊

When they can sell a unit worth Rs.500 for Rs.2500, why would they give it for free.

Thanks. Got it in black and installed it at a shop here. The box mentioned 'Volume button' but I couldn't find anything on the device. The volume is too high for my liking. Is it possible to adjust the volume other than sticking a tape on the speaker and poking some holes on the tape. That's what I do first thing when someone used to gift a cheap china made sound making toy to my daughter.

Nothing to complain at this price but nothing beats the flush mounted sensors of factory OEM kits.

Foremost, excellent video review Karan

Do you know the servicing interval and approx service costs?

How about the light build affecting her NVH characteristics going over potholes? Does she feel as 'tin'ny as the Amaze/Brio or the Go/Go+? I just found a display Figo at an exhibition and was not impressed by the puny feel of the door handles and the door closing sound. How does the parts hold on after some rough usage? Why I ask is because my Micra has really transformed into a real 'tin'ny feel down the kilometers. Though the Swift rattles, it does not feel all that 'tin'ny.

It might be damn difficult to control the right foot on the new Figo; but still, do you have a number to crosscheck the ARAI FE rating?

1st service was at 2500 km, but that was just a check up & cleaning. The real service interval is 10,000 km or 1 year, whichever is earlier.

NVH levels are above average for this segment. Regarding road presence i think the Figo is a handsome car to drive on the road & definitely doesnt feel as tiny as the Brio.

The parts are again above average, the knobs & switches feel premium to use but the story ends there. The doors as you said dont have that thud in them & IMO will be the 1st to start squeaking/rattling (as also there is no gasket present on the door perimeter)

The FE overall im consistently getting is 16 km/l which is a mix of highway & city. But i did extract as high as 27 km/l from it during a late night run over a span of 35-40 kms.

Also do check this post of a round trip to Pune & FE analysis;

Thanks Karan.

I have no doubt about the road presence of the Aston Martin-ish new Figo, but was concerned about whether we feel un-premium due to the light build. Not tiny, but tin (thin sheet metal) feeling which leads to road and other noise creeping in easily.

Ford have given us more horses for the buck and I am wondering where they have skimped to price it competitively.

Edit: Your comparison with the Scala in the Pune-Mumbai post is all I was looking for on the FE front. If the ARAI rating just a tall claim, as opposed to the Scala/Sunny/Micra/Pulse which outperforms their ARAI rating.

Well as i said they have cut corners on areas like the door build quality (which is naked & doesn't have gasket on its perimeter)

Also the rear parcel tray feels cheap.

Then the boot / hatch should have been of better quality(feels too light)

Ford should have kept ABS standard on Diesel & not Airbags.
