I had the same question regarding the air filter, may be it was cleaned and fit back.

For 1.5 TDCi engines, air filters have a replacement interval of 20k kms and fuel filter is changed at 30k kms. I personally change the air filter at every 10k kms for both Ecosport/Fiesta as it is very cheap at around 200 INR. |
Thanks for the above info, will be helpful during next service :thumbs up
No i Didn't know;
I was never happy to engage reverse gear in my Figo. But after using the above 3 sec technique engaging reverse has been smoother :thumbs up
Anyone else felt the same ?
Karan, you have given us the right kind of review,unique in many ways.This is the kind of stuff an enthusiast would be searching for. Hats off to you. How is the ride quality on bad roads after the tyre upgrade? Is the suspension making more noise when you hit a pothole? Is the ride bumpier?

Thanks for your appreciation :thumbs up
The ride quality is pretty acceptable to me over rough road surfaces, uneven patches. But the suspension does make noise when hitting a sharp/deep pothole. Also not really sure how much sound the suspension made when OE was on as i barely drove on them & dont remember much.
Also another option you can look at if you dont want to upgrade rims & play safe is 195/60 R14 :thumbs up
PS - Apology for a delayed reply as i am traveling

The Figo Diesel performed really well in the AUTOCAR TRACKDAY 2016 as well and Narain Karthikeyan was thoroughly impressed. So much so, when he got into the Abarth Punto next, this is what he had to say -

.. Couple of seconds faster than the Diesel Figo doesn't say much, does it?
There is no feel from the steering; it dives a lot, there's phenomenal body roll...

This is the score-board for the drive.

I have my Figo with OE tyres and alloys and if you tackle a speed breaker at a bit higher speed the suspension does make a noise. Especially the front end seems like it springs back towards the road very violently; when it happens for the first time it kind of gives jitters, but then you get used to it. Rather, you tend to slow down to avoid that, no matter what.
Turns out, this is a Ford trait and is discussed on Figo thread too! Same thing happens for 1st gen Figo, Ecosport and Fiesta too IIRC. Nothing to be worried of apparently!
About ride quality, even with Stock Tyres (I have MRF's) and alloys the ride is well sorted and even at higher speeds you feel assured; be it twisted ghat roads or flat out expressway. I especially like the composure and the speed the car is able to maintain on the twisties. :D
Tonight;
Just got back from a drive in the Figo & Tonight was like this;

& this;
Thank God i wasn't out in the Bimmer (which i was thinking to take out for a spin) tonight.
The rains were thunderous & lashing hard & the Figo held up pretty well :thumbs up
Also it was so much fun driving on the Eastern Express Highway;
Did require a lot of skill driving fast, do note this variant has no ABS, hence a lot of Engine Braking was required to be safe. Also the tyres performed brilliantly in these conditions. This powerhouse of an hatchback rekindled a lot of old school fun tonight :D
Hi Karan
Inspired by your review i have decided to go for figo tcdi for a small hatch. However only trend variants are available off the shelf. Moreover insurance is free and I'll get a trend variant for around 7l otr here. My running will be in busy city roads with a maximum speed of 80 and 30% highway blasts at more than 100 kmph. Do you think I should stretch for titanium variant for ABS?

Definitely yes. Trend vs Titanium is just 24k of difference as of now, go for it; you get alloys, abs and auto a/c mainly. How come you get the 20k insurance free? Is it from Kairaly Ford? Did you not consider the zero depreciation insurance, essential kits and the 3rd year warranty plus RSA?
Yes it's from kairali Ford. The quote is
Rs 644731 exshowroom price
Rs 52130 RTO
Rs 3400 essential pack
Rs 7803 extended 3rd yr warranty
Rs 150 handling charges
Total OTR Rs 708215
I am planning
Reverse parking sensors 3k
Foglamps for 3k
Tyre and alloy upgrade to 195/55/R15

Is the insurance discount not on Titanium? I have not been given the same at Karali Ford Kottayam.
Did you ask if the tire upgrade will void any suspension warranty, I am not sure. How much will the tire and alloy upgrade cost?
Is the fog lamps original equipment or after market?
No offers for titanium variant.
I did not check with them regarding the source of fogs. Yes, tyre and alloy upgrade ll void suspension warranty

Ford offers Fog lamps as official accessory but seems like they are very flexible with the prices. 3000 is a very good offer.
But note that the fog lamp indicator on the driver console will not work if it is installed as an accessory.

Could you please share the cost of original alloys if you know.

Don't you think driving above 100kmph even once validates the need of ABS?
Original alloys are expensive and costs around 8k per piece.
