Completed 20000km today. Getting the fourth service done tomorrow. It is also time for insurance renewal. So overall- 25k dent to the wallet.

PS: Sold my beloved 87000km run Chevy Beat diesel as dad wanted to buy a new Celerio :Frustrati . So, in another week, I will be having my 7th new Maruti car in last 14 years!

20k km service done. All fluids replaced, filters replaced, brakes cleaned, alignment and balancing done, intercooler and blower cleaned. 11k dent to my wallet. Has Maruti become costly? :(

11k for 20k kms service seems to be on the higher side. There should be some error in there billing system.

The big ticket items on the bill are Synthetic oil for 3500.00. Mineral oil would have costed you half the amount.

There is a service kit costing INR 1500.00 What is this and what did it contain?

Service labour charges sound ok at 1250.00 but what is intercooler cleaning, blower cleaning and Engine Cleaner? These items are very expensive and don't make sense.

Also they have charged you almost INR 1000.00 for wheel alignment and balancing which is daylight robbery.

Did you ask for Intercooler cleaning?

Engine Cleaner, intercooler cleaning, Sonax cleaner are the small killers here and can be avoided in future services.

Biggest one IMO is Engine oil. 3.5K is too much and one thing that I can't understand is why is MASS using oil that costs ₹1100 per litre (5W40 grade) whereas here they use the same grade oil but it costs ₹560 per litre. So the effective price comes down from 3500 to 1600 for 3.1L capacity. Surprising I feel.

Absolutely unnecessary stuff included in the bill to inflate the pricing and their incentive.

Woah PrasannaDhana, have you applied for the Royalty/Loyalty Card yet?? lol:

The chocolate brown on the Ciaz looks very different from the ones of Vento/Polo/Rapid. It is a bit weird that the former looks great under shade while the later looks better in bright light.

Wish you a happy motoring and many more 'Maruti's :D

I asked for the intercooler cleaning as the turbokick was missing at times(very rarely though, it would be back to normal after a restart). Blower cleaning was not asked for.

Thanks! :) I think Vento's brown is the best and Honda city's brown is the worst. Polo somehow doesnt look as good as the vento in brown. Global Ford fiesta looked awesome in brown shade. Ciaz is good in this shade but needs a lot of effort to maintain.

I may also go for a Brezza/ S Cross 1.6 as a replacement for my Safari Dicor next year. So it will be the 8 th Maruti :D

Wow, thats expensive. It contains 3 filter elements in all and @ INR 1800.00 each filter costs an average of 600.00 INR.

Maruti doesn't sound like the "Car for India" anymore, at least by its spare part prices.:deadhorse

I am charged ~₹1550 for the service kit. Not sure of the current prices for it individually.

It would be a better idea to check on this. Moreover, Ciaz's spares might be a bit costly wrt Swift. But I believe, the same parts should fit because of the DDiS.

24/7/16 Update:

Odo @ 20300km
The front left wheel has been losing pressure often. I knew it was a puncture but had no time to get it swapped, so I was refilling air daily since last Tuesday. Today, i noticed in my garage that the tyre has gone flat.

Removed the flat tyre and i was shocked to see the rust formation beneath. I wanted to clean it off, instinctively used 3M chain clean spray (not on the disc though) stupid:and lube before swapping the spare tyre.

Spare tyre always makes me feel that i need to upgrade to 16inch black alloys after the stock
tyres are used up.

Also worth mentioning is the useful boot light which I have not covered in the review. It was extremely useful and it is a visual relief to the otherwise ugly naked boot :)

01/08/2016 update. 21000 km!

19.2 kmpl??

Doesn't it seem to be on the lower side compared to your previous figures?

Yes. This tankful was 70% bumper to bumper traffic. That must be the reason.

Update with some pics: Odo reading- 21,500km
I have taken delivery of a new Celerio zxi(o) replacing my Chevy beat. And looking forward to replace my Safari Dicor with a Strome Varicor 400 or XUV500.
