That thud is due to suspension bushing. Though i had that issue in the front left suspension, it was very rare when I could hear the thud. I reported that during the 25000 km service, and I havent heard it till now. I have heard that thud just 3 times in all of these 26000 km.

Please change the equalizer setting for rear speakers to work.

If your battery dies, place the key fob on the start-stop button and press it. It will start.

I have had no problems with phone pairing, but I havent had the patience to browse through contacts. I just take calls on the go.

My beige covers are good as new, even after 14 months. I dont drive with windows open, and most times, it is me solo driving the car.

Thank you Devdath. We were - me, my dad, mom, wife and sister. Myself and dad are 6 footers and we took the front seats. It was an easy fit for the three ladies at the rear. But there wasnt any space for the kid (2yr old toddler) to sit. She had to be accomodated on her mom's lap.

Pick up was not affected with load, nor did it scrape anywhere. But there was a mild mild difference in braking. The momentum of extra load made the braking distances slightly longer. Another difference was fuel efficiency. Last Chennai trip it returned 20.3 kmpl (highway speeds on most parts of NH 45), but this time it reduced to 18.4 kmpl.

You should keep in mind that these fuel efficiency figures are a bit low by ciaz standards as I have been driving it spiritedly, as NH 45 is one highway that I know every turn and corner by heart, and it is mostly free of traffic, straight & smooth. If I were driving at 100-120 kmph, the ciaz would have returned an easy 22-23 kmpl. Mine is a non-shvs model, so the shvs version would return 0.5-1kmpl more.

And yes, I will definitely recommend the Ciaz diesel. After my purchase, 3 of my friends have bought the Ciaz diesel, and all of them are extremely happy with the decision. Of all my cars, Ciaz is the fastest, most comfortable (safari excluding) and most fuel efficient. :)

I love the car totally.

13/10/16 update: 26,000 km done!

Starting November just shy of 27,000 km.

11th November update: 27893 km. Almost 1000 km since the previous update. :)

Tried having my Kwid 1.0 as the daily driver. But it isn't as comfortable as the ciaz and safari. Again, safari is too big to be a daily driver. So, ciaz it is, for me.

Finally, crossed 28000 km today. I am already thinking about a tyre upgrade to 205/R15 which will be necessary in another 10k km.

Update after a long time:

Odo: 29,295 km

Since I am using my CBR250R as daily driver, 2500km of the running has been taken by cbr from the ciaz. :)

Nearing 30k km. Hopefully by the New Year!

Completely OT:

Have you ridden the Dominar yet? If yes, how would you rate it for long distance driving over mixed roads in terms of rider and pillion comfort? There have been mixed opinions about its seating position.

No I haven't. But what I hear is that it has a more relaxed position than the CBR250R. CBR250R is extremely comfortable to me on long hauls. I am sure Dominar is going to be comfortable as well.

I don't want to test ride it, as i may get tempted if i like it lol. Same thing happened in my last purchase of 200 NS. :D

I am looking to buy an RC390 next year. But i don't know, i may even retain my cbr and go for another new bike- dominar. But I love fast bikes. Waiting to see how it fares.

Just crossed 25000 in my CIAZ non SVHS ZDI+. Mileage continues to be 19+in Chennai city driving. Have found no difference in performance so far. Love the effectiveness of the voice recognition for making calls. One thing though.. never got improvement in mileage in long distance / Highway. Chennai-Bangalore, Chennai- Cochin, Chennai- Tirunelveli. Maybe, if I restrict myself in the 100Km/h range then I can experience some improvement.

30,000 km milestone achieved!!

It should have come last December itself. Since CBR250R took 3500km of ciaz's pie past month, it took me 2017 to reach 30,000 km :)

30k in 15 months. Not bad at all. The car has been absolutely trouble free and still feels good as new.

For the first time in 15 months, I am looking at 800km+ for a tankful. Credit to my tamed driving style nowadays :D

463km done on half tank of diesel. Range shows 415km but it will increase as more highway miles are done.

Fyi, i have been driving city:highway - 40:60. Thoroughly impressed with 23.4 kmpl efficiency!

Ciaz is cheaper than my CBR250R to run.

7th service over 30000km service.
Paid INR 6,616

Odo: 30,350 km

Using my ciaz as daily driver, CBR, Kwid put to rest.

Planning tyre change after 37000 km. Upsizing to 205 section.

You seem to be in a very enjoyable dilemma. Must need quite a lot of thinking on which keys to pick up every day. :uncontrol

I have noticed that the Ciaz suspension is on the softer side. Won't the 205 tyres touch the wheel wells with a full load?
