Yes Parag, I remember that very much. Thank you I spotted a hell lot of private cars and cabs with fake team bhp stickers on the way from Bangalore to Udupi and finally got to see an original one at Manipal and it turned out to be Dr. Naren's car.

re: My Maruti-Suzuki Baleno Zeta Petrol | Now Wolf'd | 6 years & 42,000 km done

Update on Wolf Remap :

As mentioned in my previous post , I was not fully impressed with the remap. Rajiv was not with us that time , he was sending files from Bangalore. I was supposed to try few more maps after they return from Goa.

But...this happened!!
My Maruti-Suzuki Baleno Zeta Petrol | 8 years & 52000 km up | EDIT: Sold!-img20181201wa0029.jpg
Yes, I drove to Goa. Mainly because of 3 reasons :

1. Long distance testing
2. Rajiv ( Yes, he was available in Goa )
3. Cheaper Petrol

During the 300 km drive to Goa, I found lot of inconsistency in performance. Car was definitely slower under full throttle. Enough of butt dyno feel, decided to time the car. I got 0-100 timing of 11.9 seconds, that was faster than all the auto magazines for stock Baleno 1.2. Hmm, but the car was not feeling any fast on full throttle. I asked Wolf to flash back stock map. Believe me, I loved the stock map lot better because of consistent performance and no power drop on full throttle. 0-100 of Stock map was also same as Wolf map. Never go with figures posted by magazine, time stock vs remap yourself on same road. Wolf team asked me to try 97 Octane saying the map will work perfectly on that. I was not at all convinced because I have no plans to run this car always on Speed 97. Decided to keep the stock map.

Next day, Rajiv convinced me to try one more map and test it. This map was better. Performance was consistent, no drop of power on full throttle. 0-100 timing was also improved. It does in 11.5 seconds now. Gains are minimal, atleast I am happy that it's better than stock now. The limiter is set at very conservative 6200 rpm in stock map. I hope Wolf team would be able to raise it during next update.

Not a perfect launch, lot of wheel spin!

The gains are nothing great when it comes to timing, but yes we can't expect more from 1.2 NA petrol

Wolf had asked me to try Speed 97 and I did the same.

I have driven more than 200 kms and there's no gain in terms of performance. Engine feels smoother though.

What Next ?

Free Flow Exhaust

re: My Maruti-Suzuki Baleno Zeta Petrol | Now Wolf'd | 6 years & 42,000 km done

Update :

I have started liking the Wolf map now, thanks to finding the right fuel for this map. Car performs very nice with HP Power petrol. It is 91 octane fuel with cleaning additives. Performance is almost similar on regualr HP and Reliance.

Theorertically the map should have worked better with Speed 97, but it is not happening. The car has run close to 28k kms now and almost 1500 Kms after Wolf remap. I have not noticed any change in Fuel economy. The engine note after 4000 RPM is my new addiction .

I have not updated the thread since a month as I was not using the car. Dad was using once in a while.

This is how my Baleno looks today ( 3+ years old )

re: My Maruti-Suzuki Baleno Zeta Petrol | Now Wolf'd | 6 years & 42,000 km done

As mentioned in my last post, I have run around 10k kms after installing Yokohama BluEarth at rear. I swapped them to front along with WA & WB at MRF T & S Udupi. They offered a good service .

My Maruti-Suzuki Baleno Zeta Petrol | 8 years & 52000 km up | EDIT: Sold!-img_20190202_181926.jpg
Observations

1. The steering has become smoother at low speed and feels little more harder as the speeds increase.

2. Slight improvement in braking

3. Ride is more comfortable at front and bouncy at rear ( Thanks to Alnac 4G )

I will get the Alnacs changed to BluEarth after few weeks. ODO is close to 29k kms now.

AC vent knobs were broken in side 2 vents. Maruti doesn't provide only knob as child part, entire vent needs to be replaced. It costs Rs. 445 for one side. I got them from Boodmo during 12 percent offer. I will get the installation done at Maruti.

re: My Maruti-Suzuki Baleno Zeta Petrol | Now Wolf'd | 6 years & 42,000 km done

I have been using Baleno since last couple of days. The car feels DEAD after getting used to my 200 HP S-Cross.

Dad had driven 800 Kms (Bangalore Trip) few weeks back. He doesn't know the car is remapped and asked if I had done anything to exhaust haha. The engine note is slightly louder / sporty at higher revvs now. He got 24 kmpl too . I asked him if there is any change in performance and his reply was this car performs like stock and I am sure no Wolf or Fox has remapped it .

But, I had noticed minor gains in stock vs remap and had done better 0-100 timing too. I decided to check in gear acceleration timings. I got hold of stock Baleno and compared with my car.

The results were eye opener. Posting the 15-75 kmph timing in 2nd gear. I did this to eliminate the driver error in 0-100 launches.

Stock Baleno

My Baleno (Wolf Remap)

There's hardly any difference. In gear acceleration timing is the best way to appreciate gains as the results are consistent. I am not blaming Wolf Moto here as the tuner had told me honestly before remap that ignition timing in ECU is already very advanced from factory and there is limited potential. But, the car didn't perform any better with Speed 97 too. I can conclude that remap has negligible or nil gains and not worth spending money on it. Wait, don't take this as a negative review on Wolf Moto..this is just about my Baleno. I am extremely happy and satisfied with SX4 and S-Cross 1.6 remaps from Wolf.

re: My Maruti-Suzuki Baleno Zeta Petrol | Now Wolf'd | 6 years & 42,000 km done

HP Power 99 is available now in Mangalore. I tried it for 2 tankfulls to see if Wolf remap works better. I am disappointed once again and there is no gain in performance. Engine just sounds better. Wolf tuner, Rajiv has assured me that he will give me an update for higher octane fuel. But, I do not have much hopes as there was no difference in regular fuel, Speed 97 and Power 99. I do understand that gains are minimal in NA petrol, still I expect some difference in timings which is not the case in my Baleno. I can conclude that the remap didn't make any difference, no matter what the fuel is. I will update again after trying few more maps from Wolf.

I got to hear from dad that a rat was present inside cabin. Luckily no damage was done. As per the service center, it's a known issue and they have to install metal mesh at 2 or 3 places. They have asked to keep the car for a day. I am not sure if it's service center specific fix or official directions from Maruti.

Did you leave car in fresh air mode while parking? I'm not entirely aware of what's the mechanism in ACC equipped cars. Even with car in recirculation mode, rats are known to get into the cabin by chewing through the fresh air gate.

The fix is common across all workshops. They fix a mesh using body sealant paste, on cabin's fresh air intake and rear vent(usually behind rear bumper).

This is how they do it here:

I clicked on the thread hoping to be elated that Wolf has managed maps for NA engines which I can get done on the Ignis and then on my Civic as well. I guess not yet. Will be following this to see if they can come up with something.

Wolf can remap Ignis 1.2. Do give it a try, but do not expect big gains in NA petrol. Wolf says their other customers with 1.2 K series engine are happy, but I found no difference in my car.

Hi Naren - Will a remap bring significant improvement in a 1.2 NA CVT version? I would like to see some difference in the rubber band effect in my CVT.

I am not sure, but Wolf does have remap for 1.2 NA CVT too. I suggest you to try and then keep it only if you like it as they have 1 month money back guarantee.
