re: My 2011 Maruti SX4 ZDi - Remapped by Wolf Moto, EDIT: 10+ years & 1.3 lakh km done

I have observed that creases are formed on rear quarter panels. This issue has been reported in few other SX4's too.

re: My 2011 Maruti SX4 ZDi - Remapped by Wolf Moto, EDIT: 10+ years & 1.3 lakh km done

I observed that front left mud flap is missing.

I had a look at old pics and it's been missing since many months . Service manager confirmed that mud flaps for SX4 are available separately (not in pairs) and painting charges are extra. I asked him to keep it ready.

Fixing at service centre

Total cost : ~ Rs. 750 (Rs. 500 for painting)

The car is performing really well, I would call it as best days of my SX4, thanks to new Wolf map. I have not got the CEL again. During the timing chain change, service centre guys had removed few hoses and one was not fully tight. The turbo boost related CEL might be because of it. Gearshifts are awesome too, thank you Liqui Moly!!

I changed the wiper blades today. I went with my tvs frame less blades from Amazon. I am happy with the performance.

re: My 2011 Maruti SX4 ZDi - Remapped by Wolf Moto, EDIT: 10+ years & 1.3 lakh km done

Ok guys i need help.
Mods please excuse if this is not in the right thread.
I got my sx4 ddis serviced yesterday at MASS. Usual service and i had to get the clutch master cylinder replaced as it was leaking.Post the replacement we did the clutch bleeding and brake bleeding as well.

However i am now facing a weird issue. Once i shift in to fifth gear and need to downshift the gear to fourth it just refuses! I have to pull it hard and the whole action seems not smooth in shifting.

Could this be due to improper clutch bleeding? Just to add no work on clutch in terms of any opening etc was done. Just master cylinder replacement and bleeding.

Would appreciate any inputs.

Looks like gear synchronizer issue. It's a known issue with 1.3MJD engines. Get it checked at MASS.

Ohh, gearbox had its synchronizer rings replaced for 2/3rd gear just 12000kms ago. Cant understand how the fifth gear cropped its issues post service. All was perfect when the car went it for service. Two test drives before taking it in service by their service adviser and nothing seemed out of place.

I've noticed that somehow, many issues crop up in a car just after service. It just shows that the service center guys are inept to do work. Just get it checked again, maybe due to improper seating of clutch parts it's happening. I'm not sure.

I don't discount a faulty clutch bleed procedure in its entirety. Have it checked together with the clutch pedal play adjustment. Also check the gear lever and related rods & cables.

Got the clutch bleeding done again. Noticed an immediate improvement, also came home and cleaned old grease near the gear rod and put it aome fresh grease.
@Bonecollector.
You are right about new issues cropping after service, hence will just do everything at home now onwards. Maruti labour cost is very high, paid almost 3500 as labour and most of the stuff was just general like coolant and oil replacement that too oil was provided by me.
Have asked them numerous time for service manual, but always denied, somehow if i can lay my hands on it i can then do everything at home at fraction of the price.

Hey Dr.Naren!
Been an avid reader of your thread. I too have a 2011 Maruti SX4 Diesel and despite of all the small niggles here and there, it is a quite good car suited for both city and highway.

How is yours running nowadays?

Nice. It is really not easy to ditch this car. I have faced lot of issues and most of them happened when car was fully stock haha.

The car is doing good. Touchwood, no new issues. How many kms have you covered?

Mine has done 90,000 Kms. And Oh! Thanks for that "Introduce yourself" link.
So far I never had the engine rebuilt. But the transmission was rebuilt at 56,000 Kms. I think that bad transmission was on every SX4.
We also purchased a Creta Petrol and despite those wonderfully low NVH Levels, that engine doesn't pulls Maybe because now I'm too used to that turbo kick.

Hi Dr. Naren,
I am planning to change the lower arm on my 2011 SX4 Zxi.
You had changed the lower arm at 95,000 km. How is that lower arm serving? What is the mileage now? Are there any signs of failure in the bush?

If you are happy with the service and life of that lower arm, I will also order it online.

Thanks and regards

I have not faced any issues with the aftermarket lower arm. It was significantly cheaper than OE part. It has been doing well since last 25k km. Talbros is a good brand .
