I got it done at Kasaragod, Kerala. Just email Nexa about the issue and TSM will get in touch with you.

It's been a while since I updated the thread, thanks to no new mods or issues .

The car is doing very good and has run close to 57k kms. Friend has managed to carry rear KYB shocks, need to install them soon. Mr. Binoy (official Garrett dealer, Bangalore) has an intercooler upgrade for S-Cross. Planning to get that too and install at Blackworks .

Brake Sound

I noticed sound from front left brake while driving, was sure it's the metal wear indicator. I had run almost 7000 kms with EBC Green stuff. That's actually decent life for Dr. S-Cross .

I wanted to get EBC Yellow stuff, but couldn't source it in time. Something is better than nothing as I have few trips this week. I went to a local car parts shop and picked up these pads, just 1000 bucks.

I had never heard of this brand before, but a quick search said it's an old Indian company. I will get rid of these pads once I get Yellow stuff .

Rear KYB shocks , Front caliper sliding pins and Masu brake pads

I got all the above parts installed at Mahindra first choice service center. Total labour was around 1k.

EBC Green stuff after 7000 Kms

No cracks or heat spots. The surface is also smooth. The pads still had some life left, but one pad had slightly uneven wear and the metal indicator made sound. Overall, good experience with these pads except for high brake dust.

I will post in detail about rear KYB shocks after running 500+ Kms. As of now the car feels slightly stiffer on bad roads and the handling is better.

Is there an official distributor for KYB shocks in India? Since you mention they are stiffer, i want to give them a shot on the i20.

We had sourced the KYB shocks from Dubai. It was a group buy and we got them for a steal because the shocks were hand carried by friends / relatives.

re: My Maruti S-Cross 1.6L Alpha : Stage 3 Wolf (~200 HP / 420 NM). EDIT : 5 years & 72,000 km up!

I have driven close to 500 Kms in last 4 days.

KYB Rear Shocks:

Do note that I have been running on Front KYB's and Modified type 2 rear beam. I am happy to report that rear KYB shocks have exceeded my expectations

1. The car is more planted at higher speeds.

2. I can take corners at higher speeds now. Perfinzas are giving up

3. The ride is slightly more stiffer at low speeds on broken roads. I really don't mind it though.

Masu brake pads:

They are very decent. Good initial bite and acceptable performance at higher speeds. But, there is lot of brake fade for my kind of driving. Need Yellow stuff soon!!

When you search a location for Valentine's!!

Driver side ORVM Damage + Minor dent on door

I don't know what exactly happened. Cousin was driving the car and it was because of an Indica coming from opposite direction.

Maruti has given estimate of around 9k for new ORVM and full door painting. I will get it done after lockdown.

Headlight Stalk Issue

I am not able to switch on headlights and even flash when the knob is at manual headlights switch on position. Thankfully, it works perfect when the knob is at auto mode position. All other functions work as usual.

Turbo to IC hose leak

This is a known issue in S-Cross 1.6. Mine is the 5th car in our group to face this. It's due to the hose hitting against AC pipe at a specific position. All 5 cars had leak at same spot. The part is imported and costs more than 2000 bucks. A friend from Kochi has sent an used hose which is in perfect condition. He had installed a silicone hose during turbo upgrade.

Thanks to fellow 1.6 owner, Mr. Neeraj for the above image and description.

Need to fix all these issues once the Covid-19 crisis is done.

Stay Home, Stay Safe !!

One easy fix which I can think of, is using a part from Maruti 800. Have a look:

My Maruti S-Cross 1.6L Alpha | Stage 3 Wolf (202 HP / 438 Nm) | EDIT : Sold - Pg 61-20171112_155114.jpg

Since engine bay is super cramped, they have used this on AC pipes to provide a cushion. You can procure this and slide over your AC pipe and that should help.

Part No: 95711M84000
Price: Rs. 63

If you face any difficulty in procuring it, let me know. I should be having some in my stock.

Regards,
Shashi

Wow!! Maruti thought of it in 800, good old times..Attention to detail and common sense is missing in modern engineering .

Thanks a ton. I will definitely get this done

Wow! Thank you Leoshashi for being resourceful yet again. So many S-Cross 1.6 owners are delighted with this. And it costs Rs. 63

re: My Maruti S-Cross 1.6L Alpha : Stage 3 Wolf (~200 HP / 420 NM). EDIT : 5 years & 72,000 km up!

This should be the longest time since this thread didn't receive any updates from me. Reason is I haven't driven the car at all since March. The car is in Kerala and dad has not at all driven too. Routine service for 60k kms is also pending. I am down with Covid-19 and under home quarantine in Manipal.

I am planning to go home next month and give some TLC to my humble Stage 3 S-Cross .

I have been stocking the parts to be ready for 60k Kms service.

Mobil 1 0W40 fully synthetic engine oil : Got 5L for ~3500 rs from Amazon (Yes, it was a steal). Very good experience from the seller NDTH on Amazon. They are official dealer for Mobil 1.

This engine oil doesn't meet ACEA C2 criteria recommended for S-Cross 1.6. But it's not an issue as Maruti skipped DPF and there are few owners in our group who have run 1 lakh + kms with this oil.

EBC Yellow Stuff Brake Pads:

Do note that EBC doesn't list these pads officially for S-Cross. The brake pads used in Indian S-Cross match with SX4 Japan / India. I luckily found out that the pad dimensions are same as the one's used in many Nissan cars including 350Z. I got these pads from GT Motorweks run by a BHPian and fellow S-Cross owner.

Toyota Rubber Grease:

Thanks to Leoshashi for suggesting this product. This is supposed to be used on caliper sliding pins and will last much longer.

I got this part from Boodmo.

Zip Oil filter:

My Maruti S-Cross 1.6L Alpha | Stage 3 Wolf (202 HP / 438 Nm) | EDIT : Sold - Pg 61-img_20200826_125951.jpg

The oil filter for 1.6 and 2.0 MJD are compatible. This Zip filter costs only Rs. 180 and the SGP filter made in China is priced at Rs. 840. Zip is supposed to be a decent Indian brand.

Zip fuel filter:

My Maruti S-Cross 1.6L Alpha | Stage 3 Wolf (202 HP / 438 Nm) | EDIT : Sold - Pg 61-img_20200827_105309.jpg

The price is Rs. 450 compared to Rs. 1180 for MGP filter.

https://boodmo.com/catalog/part-diesel_filter-6824040/

Air filter from S-Cross 1.3:

I have been using the same since long time. It is much cheaper compared to the SGP filter used in 1.6. I have ordered the same from Boodmo.

https://boodmo.com/catalog/part-elem...eaner-6767684/

Brake Fluid:

I had got Liqui Moly Dot 5.1 brake fluid long back, would use the same during service. I have got all the parts with me except for engine coolant which I would get from service centre .

I need to get the driver side door painted and new ORVM too, will do that along with service.

Cheers!!

Rear Brake Pads: Multiple options!!

OE rear pads for S-Cross are imported from Japan and cost around 6k.

I have found multiple alternatives and the cheapest one costs less than 700 bucks.

Cheapest:

Driveline is supposed to be a decent local brand and the price is very very cheap. I have ordered a set from Boodmo, curious to see how they perform.

https://boodmo.com/catalog/part-rear...pads-52057012/

OE Alternative:

Rear brake pads of Baleno RS will fit S-Cross. They are locally made by TVS / Rane and the price is Rs. 1882.

https://boodmo.com/catalog/part-pad_set-38449068/

EBC:

EBC lists only the entry level Ultimax-2 for S-Cross, but they have multiple options for the global Swift sport which are direct fit for S-Cross .

Sharing the part numbers:

Ultimax2: DPX2120
Greenstuff: DP22120
Yellowstuff: DP42120R

I am currently using Ultimax-2 which costs around 4k and happy with the results. I believe greenstuff would be better. Yellow stuff would be too aggressive for OE rotors.

There are few more options from other brands like Brembo, Mintex, Dixcel etc.

Ideal setup for My 200 HP

Front: Dixcel slotted rotors + EBC Yellowstuff pads
Rear: OE Rotors + EBC Greenstuff

I have asked my contact to source Greenstuff pads for rear, it will take some time.

I stick to the regular 1 year / 10k kms interval, didn't face any issues even after pushing the car with 200 HP
