Go for the test drive you never know you might get a good one.
Atleast you won't have a regret that you didn't check it out once.
Negotiate.

Did the test drive. The vehicle seemed nice. While conversing with the seller, as time went by more and more niggles surfaced. Like the parts he changed. Not major but still felt he wasn't telling me everything. So I felt the asking price was far too much. Since I was unable to trust the man completely. I didn't give him a price right away and said I will inform him after thinking it through. I asked for 6.25. But he didn't negotiate. He wasn't willing to proceed. So I dropped it.

...It's a wonderful car no doubt, but do consider the "riders" that come with it.
I understand. If I can't find a reliable MASS that knows how to service this car, then there is no point in getting a 1.6. Also, I have to be aware of the delay in getting the spares. This is a massive hit for me since it's going to be my primary car. The last thing is finding a good used car.

Thank you for the insights. This is valuable information.

I did a test drive of the vehicle. The car is a delight to drive except for the really heavy clutch. Glad that I was able to drive it for a few kilometres.

Those wheels on the Verna are looking fantastic! It'll be a tuned turbo-petrol very soon after it clocks in few thousands on the odo

Verna looks classy in starry night colour.

When do we expect the ownership review of your new Verna?

And, btw, what did you do with other 3 hatches (Baleno, Kwid and Grand i10)? Are you planning to dispose any of these 3 hatches or retain?

Hello. Nice cars you got there! May I ask what is your opinion about Zip filters? Is there a quality compromise wrt to Hella, hengst or Mann filters?

re: My Maruti S-Cross 1.6L Alpha | Stage 3 Wolf (202 HP / 438 Nm) | EDIT : Sold - Pg 61

The car was sold after 1.08 lakh km / 7.25 years. It was a wonderful ownership experience. I learnt a lot and had fun modifying this car. The best part is car was super reliable even with stage 3 and crazy doctor behind the wheel . The new owner is in love with the car and appreciated how I maintained the car, zero rattles in Dr. S-Cross haha.

I had removed few parts and sold. The car was sold for 8.2 lakhs. Overall I got above 10 lakhs by selling few parts and the car.

The car was sold with these upgrades:

1. Stage 3 kit
2. Alpine HU, Morel Maximo speakers
3. New UC6 tyres

First day vs Last day with my 1.6

Thanks to this car, I have friends all over the country. Dr. S-Cross was pretty famous.

One of the very few ownership threads which was written and updated well and frequently up until the end of ownership. I've learned a lot from your ownership updates. Thank you!

The car still looks fairly new for the miles and years passed.

Sad to see that you have sold this sleeper car.

What next? I guess you'd be getting a more bigger and powerful car than your 202HP S-Cross 1.6.

I would be installing Continental UC6 soon.
What is your break-down after the UC6 install?

Thanks and Regards

Dr Naren's thread on Scross 1.6 is a Bible for many of us 1.6 owners.

I'm told that MASS guys do not always have the expertise with 1.6, like they have with 1.3 so their services on 1.6 leave a lot to be desired.

Having recently acquired one, I want ensure i'm going to the right people for the job. Getting access to the Scross 1.6 owners group should really be helpful to ask relevant questions.
Can the moderators please help me get in a Scross 1.6 Specific (Whatsapp group)?

Note to the moderator: Not sure if this is a valid request. Kindly feel free to remove this post as it wont add value to the thread.
