I have not used Cetane X regularly, may be 3 or 4 times. Engine used to revv smoothly .

One more question - Does the S-Cross 1.6 come with a DPF?
No DPF in S-Cross 1.6

I know that you have a down pipe now, so the question is whether you noticed any difference in black smoke levels under heavy load WOT runs post down pipe fitment?
I have not noticed any difference in smoke levels after decat downpipe.

Quote:
After my second map update, I was asked to monitor black smoke but my worry is that since mine has a DPF, will I ever get to see any black smoke at all, even if it gets generated out of the engine.
Are you sure that Verna 1.6 CRDI has DPF ?

Thanks. I think the so called 'NextGen' models come with a DPF. To confirm this, I asked one sr. service Engineer in the dealership and he said they do come with a DPF. Upon inspecting the engine bay, I saw this big cylindrical unit which looks like a DPF.

That big cylindrical unit is Catalytic converter and A/F sensor . I highly doubt your car has DPF. Do check if there are more sensors, DPF should have pressure sensors.

You're right, it is just the Catalytic converter I suppose. Since I had seen this diagram below, I had a doubt whether the unit is a shared housing which hosts the cat and the DPF. Then the service engineer's response added to the confusion. However, there are no more sensors I can see on it, which suggests that it is the cat alone.

I logged DPF parameters like pressure & temperature, and they are stuck at max & min values respectively all the time. (10000 psi and -40 degrees C). This reaffirms.

Good to know that there's no DPF, now let me add 15bhp to the perceived horsepower, LOL

Get a decat downpipe and ask Rajiv to increase the power further

The paint on alloy wheel caps had chipped off. Leoshashi advised me to get black wheel caps, it's available as MGP part. I ordered the same from Boodmo .

re: My Maruti S-Cross 1.6L Alpha : Stage 3 Wolf (~200 HP / 420 NM). EDIT : 5 years & 72,000 km up!

FIAMM Horn stopped working:

I noticed that only one horn was working. I got it checked at the same place where I installed them ( Auto Harbour Udupi ). They fixed it quickly and said it was a loose connection.

New Modified Rear Suspension Beam:

The part has finally arrived at service center after a long wait. Warranty approval is also done, will get it fixed this sunday

Sir, I've purchased Cetane-X from the link shared in your post above. I've a quick question re the usage. My car has 55 litres tank capacity, the seller suggested me to use 300ML. However, on the bottle it says 100ml for 50 litres. Not sure to add 300ML or 100ML. Any help on this please?

Do get it clarified again from the seller. They recommend double quantity for tuned cars.

Replying here as it would be off topic on the thread you asked .

There is torque steer but it's mild. Wolf has made the map very linear with progressive and strong power delivery. There is no mad rush of power, but the car is very quick. 0-100 in less than 7 seconds .

re: My Maruti S-Cross 1.6L Alpha : Stage 3 Wolf (~200 HP / 420 NM). EDIT : 5 years & 72,000 km up!

OE clutch of S-Cross 1.6 is same as the one used in 2.0 MJD cars like Jeep Compass. No wonder the clutch is quite strong and handled all my 0-100 launches .

It's made by Valeo. The clutch is working fine under normal driving, but there is mild slipping in first n second gears when I shift aggressively at high RPM. OE clutch kit costs around 11k from Maruti.

I am thinking to upgrade with Sachs Clutch kit. It's supposed to handle 15 percentage more torque. The price is more then double compared to OE Valeo. Planning to get through friends / relatives who would be coming from Europe. Boodmo has the same part listed for around 30k. But, I am not sure if I would really get it .

My friend with Stage 3 S-Cross 1.6 has done intercooler upgrade and there is massive drop in IAT. I need to get that done too.

I believe the gearbox used in S-Cross 1.6 is also same as the one in Jeep Compass, i.e Fiat C635. Once I confirm this, I shall order short shifter from 4H-Tech.

Hi,
May I ask what made you change the rear suspension beam?

The rear alignment was out of specs and it's fixed. Hence, I got the new beam. It's a modified beam by Maruti, the old beam is no more in production.

Is this something other pre-facelift S-cross owners should also be concerned about? Mine is a 2016 one
