Car care kit : 359 Rs
Brake Fluid : 185 Rs
The dashboard shiner and glass cleaner are not great. I have both for my Swift and I do not recommend those. There is a good one that I picked up in the US for USD 5 or so from Walmart and that is out of the world. If you like it, PM me and I will get it for you in Jan

I did not have any huge expectations . I just wanted to give them a try as the price was very cheap.

Try the Liqui Moly plastic care(available in MGA) once. It gives a nice satin finish and looks very natural.
Thanks. This is what I was looking for.

There are some minor scratches and paint has chipped at few places. The front bumper has minor crack near the headlight. I want to fix all these first and then plan about ceramic coating. Attaching the pics, please let me know if there is any easy way to fix

Since its metallic, spot painting will clearly show the difference. Better get both the bumpers painted fully, may be after few more scratches?

Yes, that was the plan. I was expecting few more scratches in Bangalore traffic. I shifted to Mysore and it's not going to happen soon .

If you happen to be anytime in Puttur please check out Car Impact. He does pretty good job. Bimmers/Audi/Merc from KL14/KA19/KA01 are pretty regular here.

re: My Maruti S-Cross 1.6L Alpha : Stage 3 Wolf (~200 HP / 420 NM). EDIT : 5 years & 72,000 km up!

I have got very less life brake pads life. I thought it was due to my high speed driving and braking. There was one more culprit : The Rotors. There were deep scratches, which would reduce the life of brake pads. New Front brake discs cost around 2800 Rs. I got an idea which was very easy on pocket. I skimmed the old rotors of SX4 for just 400 Rs and used it in my S-Cross.

S-Cross front discs (observe the scratches)

I have run around 3K kms on ASK brake pads. I am very happy with it. Thanks to my driving and scratches on the disc : the wear was more than 50 percent. I wanted to change discs and pads together. Amazon is out of stock for ASK pads. After reading my review, few of my friends immediately bought them .

Since I could not get new pair of ASK brake pads, I installed Rane pads.

Installation done at FNG, charged 400 Rs and it took hardly 30 minutes

Note : Brake pads and discs are same in SX4 and S-Cross. I have tried different brake pads in these 2 cars and I can say MGP TVS pads are the costliest and brake bite is just average. ASK was the cheapest and has got the best brake bite and very less dust. Rane brake pads are somewhat similar to OE pads, but the price is almost half.

re: My Maruti S-Cross 1.6L Alpha : Stage 3 Wolf (~200 HP / 420 NM). EDIT : 5 years & 72,000 km up!

I had parked the car outside house and the muddy water from terrace post rains dirtied the roof, glass and doors. Since I had bought the coupon from wheeler cleaner, there was 1 more free wash and interior vacuum left. I got it done today along with spray wax for 100 rs (coupon discount).

Hissing Sound

I had noticed hissing sound in engine bay few weeks back. It is present only during idling and more prominent at cold start. I found out the source of this sound, it is from alternator belt. I asked few other S-Cross 1.6 owners and they have also reported the same. I am not sure if it's normal or abnormally normal

Which is better, ceramic coat or glass coat? I believe glass coat gives a better glossy finish

I do not have much knowledge about this. I am reading about this and trying to understand since last few weeks. There are so many brands and so many detailers. I would get the minor paint work done first and buy time to do more research on this ceramic / Nano / Glass coating

All the car now needs is a meaty set tyres and good looking wheels but if you’re only ready to compromise on the performance by 5-8% depending on the size you pick. OEM gets boring isn’t it at some point?

Haha!! I was just discussing the same with a tyre guru and I see this post . I would be getting Momo Massimo / Revenge Concave alloys and 215/50 R17 Michelin PS4 tyres next year. I don't want to go with very wide tyres and make my car slower .

P. S : I am not running with stock tyres and alloys even now.

Believe the tyre guru is fellow bhpian Nikhil?!

Ya I pretty much knew your answer as you’ve done so much to pump up the performance of your car and in no way you’d want to compromise on that factor

Momos look really cool with wider or fat tyres. It just makes Scross look even more attractive!

I have tried many additives and injector cleaners from differed brands. Recently I tried Abro Diesel injector cleaner and results are good. Engine feels smoother and NVH is down.

I will just summarise about all the products which I have tried.

1. Liqui moly speedtec diesel : Not recommended, no difference at all

2. 3M diesel additive : Not recommended, engine noise was higher, nothing else

3. Cetane-X : It works, I liked the product. It worked as per their claims.

4. IOC ADDON : It works, very VFM product imported from France. You need just 2 sachets (30 Rs) for 1 full tank.

5. Abro Diesel injector cleaner : It works!!

6. Shell V Power Diesel(This has additives) : Mixed opinion. It was good initially, but during last refill the engine got very jerky.
