re: My Maruti S-Cross 1.6L Alpha : Stage 3 Wolf (~200 HP / 420 NM). EDIT : 5 years & 72,000 km up!

Update :

I crossed 1000 KM today and car is due for first free service. Dealer was calling me every alternate day since a week to remind. I have booked a slot on sunday. First free service is just wash and inspection. Finally I am done with run in period

I got number plate installed today. A simple one and nothing fancy, costed 700 bucks. I did not like the gloss black wrap above rear number plate. But now I find it OK after installing number plate.

First Free Service :

I got the car serviced yesterday. It was just wash, inspection and fluid top up. I am impressed with interior cleaning and wash by Mandovi motors, Mangalore. Bill was 30 Rs for windscreen washer fluid. Nexa App is very useful. Service booking, cost estimation etc can be done in App.

Post service : Looks neat

Thanks for the detailed review Dr. Naren.
The look and feel of the Nexa App seems very similar to the MarutiSuzuki App. Yes, its very easy to use, and all service records are available with you.
The blackening of the ORVM as well as around front number plate looks very decent.

Yes, it's very similar to Maruti Suzuki App which I use for my SX4. Nexa App interface is more premium . I am planning to wrap the roof next .

I too got a spoiler fitted on my S-Cross on the day of the delivery, 29-Oct-2015. The job was done flawlessly by engineers and there is absolutely no leakage of any sort.

Anyone thinking of going for a spoiler for S-Cross, please go ahead and get it. Believe me, it completely changes the looks IMHO.

Thanks buddy. Spoiler and illuminated door sills are on my list.

RD box update :
I have asked RD for demo of dual channel box and they have offered free dyno run too. I would be driving to bangalore on July 1 .

The spoiler really adds oomph but the drilling part was a bit scary. My wife was adamant on getting it and I had a hard time convincing her.

Awaiting your report on the dyno run.

Yes, I agree. A black spoiler on white S-Cross would really add on to the looks. I have done little wrapping and black spoiler would make it complete. I will get it painted black from Nexa itself. They offer black spoiler for Zeta limited addition.

I want to check power at wheels in stock, single channel and dual channel box. I will go for dual channel if there's significant difference. If not, I will just buy connector for S-Cross and plonk my single channel box from Grand i10 into S-Cross

There is nothing to be scared about the fitting of spoiler. It's just 2 holes (~7-8mm dia) to be made for the spoiler mounting and Service people does it near perfection.

I really hope it's done with perfection. Do they offer warranty for installation? What is the stock color of spoiler? I know MASS will get painted to body colour/black later.

As such, there is NO separate warranty for this installation.

Since spoiler is same across all variants, it comes with just primer paint only. Once you opt for it, will be painted to to body colour. Total cost comes around 6K (4K for spoiler + 2K for painting)

I had wrapped ORVM in gloss black from 3M and it costed 1200 Rs. Now I have found out that Maruti provides only cover for ORVM which is gloss black in colour and costs only 300 Rs. It is painted to body colour later. I would have sourced it instead of wrap, if I knew about this earlier. This option is better any day and would cost only 600 Rs and no issues of peeling.

My dealer quoted 8.3 k for the spoiler. Don't they have a standard price list for accessories.

I already had a run in with the accessories guys in Nexa Ambattur when I had issues with the car cover given as part of basic kit. The cover stained the car and had to take it to the service center to clean it up.
I had returned the cover and waited for 20 days before I had showdown with showroom manager and he replaced it with a tyvek cover.

8.3 K for the spoiler is way too high. It should not cost more than 6k in any city. Official price of the part is 5005/- INR as per the accessory price list which I have in my email from Nexa. Please check with other Nexa dealer.
