Got a chance to experience the 202 Horses yesterday and boy what a Torque monster has Dr Naren got. The car shoots like a bullet when the turbo kicks in and in no time you reach triple digit speed. Wolf Moto have done a EXCELLENT job with the Remap and have nailed it to the point.

The car feels planted to the road at all times ,Body roll is very well contained and the Eibach lowering springs have improved the handling of the car to a great extent. The Michelins do an amazing job, very minimal road noise and no tire screeching even at immediate turns and runs through the highway barricades. The brakes are very very sharp and the car can come to a stop in no time.

The car has absolutely no rattles, wind noise or road noise. The only thing I loved to hear was the 1.6 Engine roaring in the engine bay , the turbo whistling along and me getting pushed from the passenger seat to the rear seats was a different experience . Even after pushing the car so much , it still returns a minimum 10 KMPL and the monster is still running on the stock clutch which is mind blowing that it can handle the torque without any hiccups.

Overall, a fantastic pocket rocket Dr Naren has got and a special thanks for him for giving me the experience of a lifetime. This car is a testament of how much you can push the DDIS 320 engine and how reliable it is.

Cheers !
Ashton Castelino

Congrats on the milestone Naren!!

For what I have known from your ownership so far is that your next car will have to be in atleast 3 segments up and it definitely will be a tough job finding a replacement to the Scross within a 25 lakh budget.

I do wish to see 6 digits on the odo.

I wanted to test the worst FE in that 100+ km highway drive, up shifted above 4000 RPM whenever possible . I easily get 20+ if cruised on highway. Thanks for the feedback.

If I am looking for a new car and keep it fully stock, hmmm..I need to get at least 330i haha. Nothing below 25 or even 50 lakhs would be able to better the performance in stock form.

New launch by IOC. Cetane number is up by 5 points. I found the effect similar to cetane boosters. It costs only 3.5 bucks more than regular diesel and totally worth it.

re: My Maruti S-Cross 1.6L Alpha | Stage 3 Wolf (202 HP / 438 Nm) | EDIT : Sold - Pg 61

The car is doing very good after service. Engine is damn smooth now with new Motul Xcess 5W40 and XtraGreen diesel. I was little concerned as the current one I used is made in Vietnam while I had got made in France can last time. The hissing sound from engine drive belt is also gone after new belt.

Got the car washed today. I didn't get it at Wagen Tunen during service as it was about to rain.

80k km done!

I have moved to Bangalore and it is all city driving now. I was sceptical driving 200+ stage 3 car in Bangalore traffic and boy I was wrong . I get 14-15 kmpl and the 3rd gear is good enough for most of the city driving.

Front brake pads changed (Ferodo)

Ferodo pads are amazing. Bite is really good. Definitely better than OE pads. High speed braking is also decent.

Rear KYB shocks were leaking. Replaced with Monroes. I find them as good as KYB.

Don't miss out the other car in above pic. That is my uncle's well maintained Baleno Altura.

The car is doing brilliant. I am planning to install DIA and performance muffler. Wolf has asked me to try a new map which will have better mid range. I will dyno the car again after the minor HW mods and new map.

Cheers!!

Naren,I see you have used multiple brands of aftermarket brake pads on your S-Cross.
Can you provide a brief feedback on them and maybe rank them from best to worst. Would be useful to choose from a plethora of aftermarket options
Thanks

I have tried multiple brake pads with price ranging from 1k to 12k . EBC Yellowstuff was the best, but it costs 12k for S-Cross.

KBX, TVS hi-per, and Ferodo are good and superb VFM. I would be using cheaper but decent pads from now. Got a set of Hella brake pads, will try next time. Roullunds and ASK brake pads had damaged OE rotors, but the OE rotors are of average quality anyways.

Overall based on my experience:

EBC YellowStuff > > EBC GreenStuff > Ferodo > TVS hi-per = KBX

I won't recommend Dixcel brake pads, had tried 3 different types. M type was horrible for fast driving. Dixcel ES and EC were decent.

Hello Sir,

Is there any specific reason for choosing Zip air filters over the OEM ones?
Also, are you using the stock injectors with the current setup? I wonder how much fuel flow can the stock injectors provide

S-Cross 1.6 gets an imported SGP filter and price is close to 1000 bucks. But, it has an additional layer of foam which restricts the air flow. S-Cross 1.3 filter is locally made and it doesn't have this extra layer. ZIP filter was in stock at Boodmo, so just got it

OE 1.6 filter vs OE 1.3 filter

Yes, the injectors are stock. I won't be able to push the engine futher as the injectors are maxed out. Need to check 2.0 MJD injectors .

If you want the value, peak injected quantity of my Stage 3 setup is 75 mm3 / stroke.
