Also, if i may check here. My car's mileage figure dropped by approx. 1.2KMPL after being serviced recently. I can't understand why it would drop.
It was a regular service without needing any part replacement. Mainly, the fluids were changed.
For now it stands at 11.6 KMPL within City. [Before service it was around 12.9KMPL]
It gives around 17 KMPL on highway trips (i usually drive between 110-120 KMPH on empty stretches). Before service it was around ~18 KMPL

I have tried Liqui Moily Super Diesel application but that hasnt made any change to the way the engine response or its efficiency.

I also tried cleaning the MAF sensor element (using an electronic contact cleaner spray), that didn't have any improvement.

Can you share the details of the shop? Friend is having issue with Linea alternator and would like to get it repaired instead of replacement.

An update: My vehicle will turn 8 this Sunday and it's just completed the 1,50,000 mark earlier this week. This has comfortably been the car which I have held the longest both in terms of age and the number of kilometres. Service due in the next 1000 or so kms. The alternator has not yet arrived; I also have not followed up due to other priorities, so hope to get that work done as well during the service.

ODO stands at 1503XX kms.

The jugaad done for the alternator pulley (explained some posts above), finally gave way. Luckily, it happened on the same day the new alternator arrived so had the vehicle towed to the service centre and got the alternator replaced along with the 1,50,000 km service.

ODO stands at 1514XX kms.

Long pending update

Just did a Chennai - Coimbatore - Palani - Bangalore - Chennai trip over the new year holidays in the car. Since it was close to 1500 km, decided to get the 1,60,000 km service done.

All the usual things + the starter switch which had gone kaput, costed around 3000 rupees to replace, and finally a part which I got in under 3 days!. The trip was good with no hiccups and the car gave a good overall mileage of around 19 kmpl.

ODO currently stands at 1,61,3XX kms

Yet another out station trip to Salem for a family function and running around town resulted in the car crossing the 1,63,000 mark. On ward journey to Salem gave a mileage of almost 22 kmpl as there was very less traffic and I keeping the speed at around 100 kmph with cruise control as well.

Return was bad as I came in during the 19th of January which meant that I got caught in the rush of people coming in to the city post the Pongal holidays. Escaped relatively unscathed though, with a delay of only around 45 minutes, but the traffic was bad right from Ulundurpet till the Chengalpet cut off.

ODO is currently at 1,63,1XX kms.
