Those are impressive FE numbers, Nikhil.

As illustrated by the others, you'd have to really struggle to see 14 kpl come up on the infotainment.

It's all well and good at cruising speeds (100-120 km/h) but all you need is to be mildly distracted for a brief moment and needled enough into feeding half throttle.. and it's a slippery slope from there!

Just got back to Bangalore yesterday.

3700 km road trip over 10 days.

I can safely say that this is India's fastest Skoda Octavia vRS. 0-8000 km in 45 days!

I wouldn't be surprised if this is probably one of the fastest Skoda's to ever hit 8K kms in India Nikhil.....without any major issues !!

I know many of us have actually asked you this before, but need your honest answer this time buddy...

My god!
This translates to roughly 200Km per day!

I took me 3 years to cover the same distance in my polo.
I think now you are more than qualified to write a long term review!

Nikhil is actually driving and using the car how it is supposed to be used. Thats approximately Rs. 50000/- worth of fuel used already, and soon the first service will be up.

Talking about service, I think that if you do not have any more long trips planned, you should get the first service done soon. Having driven in almost all types of climates and roads, surely there would be some minor deterioration in the filters and engine oil.

Normally a TSI motor would need a top up by now, have you needed it during or after your trip? And how are the stock tyres holding up? Considering the ground clearance is a bit lower than standard, but with the stiffer suspension the car wouldn't be scraping anything in its way. My Octy with softer springs comparatively always scrapes upon bigger speed breakers with 4 people on board. But mostly I am solo 'flying' hence didn't see the need to upgrade to stiffer springs.

A phenomenal machine this, but not so great after sales, considering they had not removed those blockers from the suspension and pre-filled the tyres with sealant fluid.

Hi sir,
The vRS is a one of a kind and I can totally relate to the miles you've munched. Literally, 8,000 kms in 45-days is just phenomenal! My Diesel Hexa which is close to 6.5 months old has barely touched the 6k mark. The vRS remains an unfulfilled dream of mine and my dad though. Had the vRS come sometime in February or March, we would've bought this mean machine eyes-closed.

A hurried quick TBHP meet!


I met up with some of the local guys who had heard I was in Bombay and was heading to Pune. So, we met up on Palm Beach Road, Nerul.

There was TBHPian blackwasp and his Abarth Punto and his friend Rohan in his facelifted Fiesta. The three of us drove to Lonavla to meet up with sukiwa and ycj in another Abarth Punto! A few other guys came to meet us at Palm Beach Road. Rohaan, Arif who couldnt come with us to Lonavla and had to head back.

The Black Abarth accompanied me back to Pune and we had another quick picture before waving goodbye!

Also, special thanks to Sukiwa who gifted me a box of local chikki! A very 'sweet' gesture indeed!

















It was really nice meeting fellow enthusiasts and I've decided to have a longer, more relaxed meet next time I'm here! We reached Lonavala but because I was in a tearing hurry to be on time for a business meeting in Pune, Yash and Suhas sacrificed their lunch to accompany me back to Pune. Sorry guys! Next time I'll ensure we eat properly! It was also raining quite heavily on the expressway in patches and it was pouring in Lonavala.

A very enthusiastic drive interspersed with extremely slow rolling roadblocks from Bombay to Pune saw my fuel economy dip drastically.



Finished my work in Pune on Saturday night and left early in the morning on Sunday. A pretty relaxed but fast drive from Pune to Bangalore with a couple of small halts and one power nap.

At Tumkur, at the end of the Chitradurga-Tumkur Expressway, this was what my car had done.



From Tumkur, it was heavy traffic all the way back home.




The car itself has changed it's colour. It's now brown! The Skoda logo is barely visible on the alloy wheel!











One small scratch on the car. The first. This probably happened when the hotel security guards were trying to hurriedly load my large and heavy suitcase into the boot. It is definitely not because the car impacted any wall or surface as the location of this scratch is on the top of the bumper.

Some statistics for everyone.

The Long Term trip meter got reset somewhere between Calicut and Bombay.






So, for 2890 kms, my average speed was 60kmph and average fuel economy was 11.4kmpl.

I am very happy and impressed with this.

A lot of people warned me that the TSIs have a drinking problem. As soon as I woke up on Monday morning, I checked the oil level and found it was closer to the bottom of the notched portion of the dip stick. I immediately topped it up with about 150-200ml of oil (that I had purchased from TAFE).

This was before my morning cup of coffee and clearly my brain wasnt functioning properly. I shook my head and realised (after topping the oil) that my car wasnt on a level surface. I then started the car and quick parked it on a level surface and let the car rest for another 15-20 minutes while I went in for my usual dose of caffeine.

Came back after 20 minutes or so and checked the oil level and it looked good. So, I dont think I am losing much oil. 200 ml over 8k kms is quite good I feel for a brand new car.

A small video I made documenting the transformation from dirtiest vRS in India to one of the cleanest (at least for a brief period of time before it hit Bangalore roads again)!

After a 3700km drive over 10 days, the car was filthy. It was time to visit the Feynlab guys again.

I will just let the pics do the talking.































This time, since the car was absolutely filthy, I didnt want them just rinsing the car, foaming the car and then start rubbing with their mitts.

I wanted them to do a touchless wash to get as much as dirt off as possible before using their wash mitts.

I was more demanding than usual but surprisingly, they didnt throw me out or politely tell me to shove it and sit in the lounge! They put up with all my nonsense and the main person there, Naveen was very cooperative.

Once again, after the wash, he examined the front of the car closely for bug splatters and insects and cleaned it as much as he could. Again, he went way beyond the call of duty.

I met the owner Krishna today and because there was a bit of roughness on the hood, he even got the hood clayed. I insisted on paying something extra for the extra effort they took but they politely declined and charged me the same old Rs 767 including taxes.

This was really shows off the spectacular detailing done by Sunnyboi. The lighting in their room really makes my car look amazing.

The detailing also ensured that a simple wash got rid of all the dirt and made the car look spectacular.

Simply gorgeous! The blue looks more beautiful than in the official Skoda Brochures!

I have seen a blue VRS being readied for delivery at the stock yard and it looked amazing but Nikhil's VRS is in a league of its own after the ceramic treatment.
