Who is the OE supplier ? I too had the same issue in my S-Cross ( Gabriel make ). Did you try claiming warranty for left side too , as it's better to change them in pair. Maruti dealer had not agreed to replace the non leaking strut under warranty in my case.

No sir, I didn't try to claim warranty for the left side one.

Will be buying the left one and replacing it when stock is available at the stockist near home. You are right, should be changed in pairs.

That was a good job. Never though it was this much simple.

Meanwhile, I came across another post for getz clutch bleeding here (Getz - Clutch pedal free play), which mentions an additional step. Both being hyundai, do we need to do that in creta or the steps mentioned by you is adequate?

Seems the tool cost will get break even once 4 brakes and clutch bleeding is done.

hi a4anurag,

Have you done any modifications to close the ORVMs on locking the car and open when unlocked? This feature I am missing on Creta.

Steps done in my car gave satisfactory results. I think the additional step is for new cylinder.

Yes sir, I've added a ORVM folding relay. Link to the post.

>>> Semi De-badging the rear emblems

From long wanted to de-badge the 'SX' and 'CRDi' and replace them with the '1.6D' from the new-generation Verna.

Looks clean and less cluttered without the 'SX' and 'CRDi'. Wanted to get rid of the 'Creta' too but didn't go ahead as would look odd

>>> Rear Wiper Replacement - Jugaad!!

The rear wiper blade was beginning to show it's age and wasn't wiping correctly so decided to replace it.

Checked the price for the rear wiper blade @ Boodmo and wasn't happy to see the pricing of it. Ditched the idea of replacement.

Thanks to BHPian interc00led, he got a nice idea for jugaad to replace the blade only of the rear wiper. As I had recently changed the front wipers from Bosch ECO to DHC frameless ones, I had the Bosch wipers (16") lying in the boot.

Opened the rear wiper arm, removed the rubber blade from that plastic housing and the same time opened the rubber blade from the Bosch wiper's metal housing and cut it to the same size as the OEM rear wiper blade and re-fit the same into the plastic housing of the rear wiper.

All is good and saved around ₹1,100. The rear wiper is 12" so from here on will buy a 12" regular wiper and fit the same into the rear wiper arm by opening it.

I have removed Creta logo as well and car looks pretty clean. Mine is wrapped though.

That's quite a steep price tag for just a wiper blade, it just doesn't make sense to pay that much for a rear wiper blade. However, I got mine replaced a few days ago on our 2015 Hyundai Elite i20 with a genuine one and I paid just INR 189 excluding Labour Charge. I don't understand why this much difference is there when the rear blades of both the cars just look the same (don't know precisely about their sizes though).

Two days back got the warning on the MID so bought a pair of Maxell CR2032 3V batteries.

re: Hyundai Creta 1.6L CRDi SX(O) - An Ownership Log - Update: 1,00,000 km up!

Hello sir,
Planning to buy the 1.6l Petrol AT. Is it worth it? Can I go for it with my eyes closed?
Thank you.

Any criteria behind choosing this car? What other cars are on the list?

I have driven the Petrol AT a couple of times and found it to be a great combo and tuned nicely with 121bhp of power, doesn't feel lethargic too.

Gear changes are a bit slow and you'll get used to it and how to time the shifts correctly for a seamless experience.

re: Hyundai Creta 1.6L CRDi SX(O) - An Ownership Log - Update: 1,00,000 km up!

The only reason for choosing this car was because it's a tall one and the other c-suvs in that range do not offer a TC. Didn't like the Seltos.
Will take a TD and make a decision.
Thank you.

I have the same car, about 1.x years old. Like mentioned elsewhere in this thread, gearshift is a bit late, and in highways, over taking takes a bit of planning and timing and even though I have not had to have panic braking, more bite in the braking area would be better - nothing to complain though. There is nothing to say about FE - there is no FE
The things I miss in the Creta are:-
1) Auto door locking at ~5/10kmph
2) Auto OVRM collapse
3) Auto IVRM dimming

if you are okay and can live with these (as I am and there are hacks you can do to get these done/installed), go for it!

Back to back post but different question.
With my key in the car, and when the driver side car door is open, I sometimes get the "key out" error/warning sound. I cannot reproduce the situation because it does not follow a trend (door is ajar/closed, engine is running, not running, parking brake is engaged/not engaged, tail door is open/closed etc). And then it goes off all on its own.
Called SSA but they only said the battery on the key might be draining - which I dont believe because the car is less than 2 years and also if the battery is draining, it should result in some inability to open doors or lock or start or something else - not a "key out" alarm. Any idea folks?

Key out warning sound and display on the MID only comes when the key is taken out of the car when the engine is running.

If it's the key fob battery, I suggest you get it changed. But "low key battery" warning will be displayed on the MID. Anyways, it's a cheap affair and a DIY. I changed it 2.5 years after I bought the car. So that can be the culprit.

I have the 1.6 L Petrol SX(O) Manual from July, 2018 which already has the features mentioned in 1 and 3 above. I checked the latest feature set from the Hyundai portal (https://www.hyundai.com/in/en/find-a-car/creta/features) and it looks like now they have features mentioned in 1 and 3 in all versions of Creta.
