Thanks a lot for the prompt response. Your DIY effect - Just got myself new LEDs which would replace the OE Festoon ones.

Cheers!

PS: I might bug you every now & then to understand couple of things which I might not be able to on my own.

re: Hyundai Creta 1.6L CRDi SX(O) - An Ownership Log - Update: 1,00,000 km up!

UPDATES UPDATES

ODOMETER: 20,000 kms
DURATION: 6 months

Since the odometer was nearing 20,000 kms, decided to get the 3rd Free Service done. Called up my SA and informed him that I'll be at the ASC by 9 am so I can get the car by 12 pm. Dropped the car off and asked for the following to be done.
  1. Engine Oil change
  2. Engine Air filter change
  3. Engine oil filter change
  4. AC Filter change
  5. Fuel Filter change

Off all these my request was to switch to synthetic oil from Shell (5W40 grade) but they were out of stock and if I was adamant on that being used in this service then I would need to wait for 7-8 days till stocks are replenished. Decided to postpone the switch and filled regular mineral oil).

Instructions given before handing the car:
  • No washing
  • No Stickers to put anywhere on the car
  • No wheel wheel balancing, alignment etc
  • No use of dashboard polish anywhere on the car
  • Also explained and made aware the SA on the SensAiry TPMS sensors and valve caps so they aren't stolen

Apparently, they don't serve in Mumbai! I can't believe this. Any alternative to this in Mumbai/Navi Mumbai?

Hello Anurag,

I saw your previous & this servicing details but apparently I didn't see you getting your tyres rotated.

It's so good that HMIL provides the spare tyre w/ the same specification - 215/60 R17 - So it would be easier to rotate & since the tyres aren't directional, the issue of RHT & LHT wouldn't come into picture & all 5 tyres can come into play.

So, you don't get your tyres rotated or do you? If you do, I'd like to know the rotational scheme you follow.

PS: I apologize if I missed it in your post somewhere.

No idea if such services exist in Mumbai.

But the scheme of MRF STAMP is applicable I think only on Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka.

I do all the wheel alignment, balancing and rotation at MRF T&S. I'll prefer them over ASC both in terms of pricing and work satisfaction.

I do get the Wheel alignment, balancing and Rotation done at MRF every 5,000 kms.

I follow the 4 tyre rotation method as given in the manual.

I just checked & found that they have only a handful of SC. Below are the list of Cities it serves as on date.

Noted. But don't you think that after couple of years the spare would not really be of that great use, provided the rubber would get old.
Isn't it wise to get the 5th Tyre into regular rotation?

Fully agree with the point.

I'm getting a 5th alloy for the spare wheel after which I'll follow the 5 tyre rotation.

Are you getting Stock Alloy? (Else you'd need to change all 5)
If yes, then from HMIL?

When you get one do post the details.
I'm myself eyeing to get the Stock Alloy for the spare - My Pegasus has already clocked 3.7k & I plan to introduce the spare during the 5K rotation.

Stock alloy only. I'll update once I get the alloy.

Cost is the main factor that's delaying the purchase. It is an eye-watering ₹ 17,455 per alloy.

Are you kidding me?
I just had a word w/ my HMIL advisor & he quoted INR 11,500 per alloy.

Would you recheck with the HMIL advisor?

That's too expensive . I am sure you would be able to get this for much cheaper from alloy wheel shops or OLX. I see lot of Creta's with after market alloys.

Enquired at 3 dealerships for the 17" alloy. Two of them quoted ₹17,866 and 1 dealer quoted ₹14,999. Pricing looks to be dealership dependant.

Have shot an email to Hyundai Customer care for a better and clear response on the issue.

Cool! Keep me posted with the response from HMIL.
Hope this would give a transparent pricing.
