If ur not into spirited driving/braking, stock tyre will work fine.
fyi i use both 165 Vxi and 195 Vdi, and Vxi itself is scary once i got used to the Vdi's wider rubber.
a strange thing i saw today. my swift VDI has a owner manual which is same with the petrol model. even the engine specs are of petrol:Shockked:
is this normal. i.e. do other swift diesel owners have the same manual. or do i hv to go and blast the showroom guys??withstupid
...Pretty sure the manual covers all variants.
So, for instance, you have different pages for the different displays for petrol and diesel; different starting instructions, engine care, service schedules etc.
If yours doesn't then my guess is they have given you an old, pre-diesel one. Blast those guys!

After the second service, i did a full tank IOC regular. As you have mentioned in your earlier posts, I too found a major difference with the pitter pattter. It feels smoother now. Will do highway in the coming weekend. And btw, finally found time to fit the car stereo. Got a pioneer 5990, with JBL normal speakers in the front and Polk audio speakers at the rear. Great output. Alas, I don have to hear the diesel grunting :)

Quick question:
i am also in the verge of changing my stock tyres and rim for my vdi to alloys and wider tyres.
is there any particular combination of alloys and tyres which is ideally suitable for vdi?
i know that there is a separate thread for this topic. but believe me guys i just got so confused after reading it and i just want to get opinion from someone who has experienced by having alloys and suitable tyres.
pls let me know the brand, size and other specs for both alloys and tyres.
195 65 14 or 195 60 15 in 6J rim, these are the ideal options.

jaggu, any particular brand for alloys and tyres?
plenty around and search alloy section, plati, hr, league, aura are more popular. Advice stay from cheap tiawanese ones, and double check the sizes and dimensions before you put your money down, shop keepers will say everything is ok, careful and dont go blindly with that.

I am using IOC XtraMile since my VDi clocked 2000kms. No issues so far. Getting good mileage consistently too.

I could not see this in the manual. My sales person told me its my choice.
I checked out with a local dealer here for the alloys. He recommends 15" alloys. Is it ok to have the 15" ones. What about the warranty on the shocks? Will it go void?

The dealer can always argue that suspension warranty is void coz of upsize, but at the end of the day if you have a good rapport with them you might get off with claims ;)
