After reading the list of dents and scratches your city got, I feel the pain of being in a city with congested traffic.
I own a 2018 facelifted ZX petrol and in congested cities of today, this car is tough to upgrade from.
The GC issue was addressed in this revision with a jacked up suspension. Surprisingly, while everyone on the forum agrees she is sprung hard, i found her suspensions to be soft for my preference and did use the suspension bungs at the front. The car instantly changed and the bigger benefit was seen in 80-90% reduction of the irritating dashboard/grab handle screeching noise. I recommend this to any honda city owner who drives on less than perfect roads.
In cabin noise insulation is better than ciaz. Would like to know your take on same vs vento.
The petrol engine is so silent, the pandit performing puja on mine asked me if her engine is spinning when he felt slight vibrations as he touched the bonnet to make a swastik. We were standing next to bonnet for full 2 3 minutes prior to that and I couldn't believe I left her spinning and did'nt realise it.
I would love to upgrade to 195/60 16 too but at 50k kms, my tires seem to have many more miles remaining in them. I also feel your brake pads are being changed more frequently. Mine automatic is still on her first set but thats also helped by paddle shifters.
As for the AC gas leak, didnt the engine guard protect her?
Wish you many more miles of trouble free ownership.
PS: barring bumper to bumper crawls in traffic jams, the automatic city is not too far behind on highway kmpl figures from diesel.

Thanks for the compliment brother.And yes,its very difficult to upgrade from Honda City in terms of comfort,space,reliability and its creamy iVTEC engine.Mostly,our next car replacing the Honda City Diesel would be another Honda City but Petrol Automatic as our running will get reduced from 30 Kms per day to 10 Kms per day in another few months.

And yes,I drive the City on congested roads too and I feel more easier to drive than our Innova,which I hate driving it and feels cumbersome whenever I drive in Hyderabad traffic.

Though I'm regretting for not buying a Petrol City for its creamy iVTEC engine,but pretty happy with Diesel City as it gives the mileage of nearly 17-18 Kmpl in city traffic even after the odo is close to 1,00,000 Kms,which is the big advantage for us and on highways,we get around 22 Kmpl.On the other hand,our Innova gives around 9-10 Kmpl in same condition while it gives around 11.5-13 Kmpl on highways.

Even we have Honda City Diesels in our circle.It is also a 2014 model but VX version with sunroof.One Honda City VX in urban titanium colour has run more than 1L Kms and they are selling off this car and purchasing a Seltos GTX+ Diesel AT as a replacement(they have 2 more cars apart from Honda City i.e a 2017 Creta SX+ Diesel AT and a 2012 Innova VX) while another one in white colour has run close 1,00,000 Kms and one of my cousins,who is a doctor,also owns a 2019 City iVTEC V CVT and he bought this car by exchanging his 2013 City SMT and this car is used by his sister's family as he is working in another place.When I asked him,"why did you get another Honda City over Creta or Seltos?",he said,I hate crossovers and we already have Creta.Hence,I bought the Honda City over C-SUV's once again.

Even he admitted that 2019 City is not as good as 2013 City in terms of drivability and build quality but pretty satisfied with the car.

Surprised to hear that you had issues with GC. My car is stock including the tyres and I have been to places where there weren't even proper roads. Never scraped the bottom except when there were deep potholes left due to trucks on a Mud road.

That was the only time I ever felt the need for an SUV( then again it was no place to drive a sedan. Just that it was a last minute travel on unplanned route)in the whole ownership experience of over 1.9L Km's now.

The suspension dropped a bit at 1.4- 1.5L km's when we changed the front lower arms and springs.

The engine is best part about the car. Easy to maintain. Though noisy, People who prefer a bit loud music would never hear it over the music system.

I frequently go around Hyderabad and in areas with pathetic roads. Drive carefully and you'll be fine with stock tyres as well.

Coming to ABS sensor, have you ever been in an emergency braking situation where the tyres locked up?

If not, then as someone else pointed it must be just the connection, but do not leave it as it is. Get it rectified asap.

Surprised to see that your Honda City iDTEC has run close to 2,00,000 Kms in 5 years.This speaks a lot about reliabilty of Honda.

To be frank,when my car is about to complete 1,00,000 Kms in few weeks,my cousin was pestering me to sell off this car as it is nearing 1,00,000 Kms and he was like,later I myself will be facing the niggles post 1L Kms.But,after seeing that you have run close to 2L Kms,I feel like keeping this car for another 50,000 Kms or 2 years as it is quite reliable and easy to maintain along with easy to drive in city and gives good FE as well.

And,I'm quite surprised to see that you haven't faced any GC issues with the car.Yes,we too drive on bad roads every time and scared of taking this car on bad roads.For that,we have an Innova at home to take care of these bad roads.After your post,my confidence has been increased when you told that you didn't have any GC issues till now.

Regarding ABS sensor,we didn't do any emergency braking yet except for few situations I guess.But,the light has glown on its own.

Changed to Yokohama Earth-1 195/60R15 just now at my trusted tyre dealer,Ashoka tyres.

The 4 tyres costed me ₹22400 along with WA and WB.I got the tyres,which were manufactured in 44th week of 2020.

Had a short morning drive with the car as the weather is breezy here in Hyderabad😍

Car has completed 99800 Kms and ran 800 Kms in a week and will be completing 1000 Kms with new tyres along with 1,00,000 Kms on the odo.The car has been used a lot by my dad since I got the tyres changed and he is preferring Honda City as his daily ride over our Innova due to FE.

I should begin by thanking you in the first place as I recently booked for a pre-worshipped Honda City SV MT Diesel 2018 -White ( pondering to name it Snow) and looking forward to bring it home in a week or so.



I was worried about the GC as you were as we are all stocky people and the ingress/egress might prove difficult for my aged parents. And as a car that is not so fun to drive , I was never considering Honda City until a friend suggested this but I went ahead with the deal as the engine's FE and space bowled me.

And here is your thread offering some nice pointers for my oncoming vehicle. And nice black Alloys- I was looking for some ideas to imbibe some character into the car.

The timing of your thread was perfect for me . Seeing a Pre-worshipped City Review in Hyderabad was something I could have prayed for.

It seems your car has taken some beating, thanks to the reckless drivers around, which points me to be careful with the size of the vehicle.

You guessed it right!My car has taken a lot of beatings,thanks to my mom and dad,who drives the car regularly and even thanks to me also��

BTW,I’ve completed 1,00,000 Kms on the odo today finally after a city drive and after filling the diesel,I’ve driven the car in sedate manner and see how much FE I got in the MID,

And,last Diesel refill gave me 16.7 Kmpl after doing 105 Kms in the city and I had filled ₹500,which translates to 6.28 litres of diesel.

3 months since last service,we have run 6000 Kms and still 3000-4000 Kms to go for next service(I’ve given when the odo was at 93900 Kms)

Updating the thread after the long time!

The car had completed 105000 Kms on Sunday(did 5000 Kms in 3 months after the last update) and got the 1L Kms major service done in the last week of December and bill I paid was around ₹17.5k.

Could have run more but due to us getting tested covid positive,the car had run bit less and the car is driven within the city limits since then!

But,I’ve did a mileage test by getting 4.5l of Diesel filled into the car and got the shocking FE of 21.3 Kmpl(T2T method)in which the car is driven 99% by myself within the city limits by driving in sedate manner!

And,in the real world,I’m getting 17-18 Kmpl if driven within city traffic.

BTW,I had an airport run yesterday due to which I had to drop my parents as they were going to Maldives for vacation and gave the car for full car painting and denting today as well!

Got the car back from painting and denting today and, I must say that they had done a good work and the paint on the car had matched well, just like how it was during its purchase. Now, the car looks good as new!

Total costs were ₹20k including polishing!

Update:

The car has completed 1.06L Kms on Saturday and the odo is a shade of more than 1,06,100 Kms as of today.

And, on Saturday, when I was dropping my friend at his home, suddenly a biker tried to crash onto my car, but, in the end, the ABS had saved me from not hitting that biker.

And, another incident, which is today, when I went out on work, I almost hit a lady, who was waiting to take a right turn to reach the destination, but luckily didn't happen anything and again, the ABS had saved me from not hitting that lady but when I applied the brakes, another Activa came from behind and hit the mirror but, luckily, the mirror was intact.

And, off late, I've been observing since last few days that my car is giving poor FE whenever I drive and I'm getting around 14-15 Kmpl if I drive in spirited mode in city traffic when compared to 16-18 Kmpl, which is the car's usual FE I get in the city.

Completed 1.07L Kms today and did nearly 1000 Kms in almost 2 weeks after the last update along with a highway trip of 350 Kms up and down to Warangal in a day!

Had filled a Diesel of Rs.2000, which translates to 22.69l of Diesel when we went to Warangal this Sunday and got a mileage of 19.5 Kmpl(T2T) in mixed conditions (80% driven in city traffic and 20% driven on highways).
