Re: 2003 Toyota Corolla H4 Automatic Review – The Blue Beauty!

This does look like a vigsom special update on his car after he sold and then the next owner sold.

Re: 2003 Toyota Corolla H4 Automatic Review – The Blue Beauty!

Got an 03 Corolla in 2016 in this same exact color. Till date my expenses with it are:

1. All 4 tyres.
2. Windshield.
3. wipers (2 sets)
4. Engine oil and filter.
5. Changed bulbs from halogens to LED's.
6. Rats had bitten the wiring so took me two painstaking days to fix it myself.
7. Added ss mesh to all possible areas where the rodents can enter. Added ultrasonic device, one in engine bay and dikki. (fixed with help from a friend.
8. Battery.

Stuff that I've done as a project ~2 months in 2022) :

1. Paint buff and polishing.
2. Removing hard water stains from the glass. (windows and both windshield)
3. Restoring original color of the alloys.
4. Repaired the CD deck. Took it apart, cleaned and refit. It's back to business :-) . Since there's no aux port, I got a cassette adapter which isntalls in the tape deck and there's a 3.5mm jack to play music off phone. An fm trasmitter works but audio quality sucks.
5. Interior cleaning and polishing. Engine bay restoration.

Re: 2003 Toyota Corolla H4 Automatic Review – The Blue Beauty!

Hi Team,

My trusted corolla for the first time in its entire life of 17 years, something has gone wrong. Ive been told this time by toyota service that i have a leaky steering column assemenly and the cost for replacement is 80K.

Is there a second hand market whereby I could get this part ?

Any help or suggestion here is deeply appreciated.

Regards,
Arjun Rudra

Hi,

You can try contacting independent garages and ask them to rebuild the steering rack instead of replacing.

All the best and keep us posted

If you wish to keep the car for another 5-7 years, go for a new one from Toyota. If you can check who is the OEM for the rack-most likely denso- try to procure the OEM which may cost less than Toyota rack.
