Also this is our second Linea. First one was a 2009 Emotion pk petrol in 2009. Maroon colour just like the Esteem Vxi that it replaced. And we (brother and I) fell in love with our Lineas old and new. We sold the old one (for measly sum) in 2019 and bought this problem child for less than 8L ex-showroom. Very good deal IMO.

Solid Italian steed. It is impossible now to think of anything like this below 15L.

I come to know from MODY FIAT Service from HYD that upon installing new strut/mount pads they will give 6months/10,000kms warranty.

Regarding usage -
Last 10k took 9 months. It took me 6 months to move from 87000 to 90000. Only office commutes in recent times.

Office commutes is also leading to a dismal range of 350-370 kms before I can safely refuel.

Regarding maintenance -
One of the engine mount is looking shaky and will get it replaced in annual service. I will get the other two checked as well.

Nice to see a pristine looking, well maintained, beautifull colored Fiat Linea. I remember at the end of the year 2011, I urged my father to go for a Fiat Linea T-jet. However, no matter how much I tried, my father just wouldnt reposit trust in the Fiat brand, notwithstanding the fact that at one time he used to own a Fiat Padmini.

Anyways, credit to you for keeping the machine in good shape. I firmly believe that as the car nears the 6 digit mileage. Its time for the owner to put himself in a frame of mind which should make him amenable to high expenses in order to maintain his vehicle. The following expenses are incoming:

(1) Engine mounts replacement.
(2) Steering and Suspension OH.
(3) Spark plugs along with ignition coil replacements.
(4) Check for any loss of engine oil, and look around the engine head cover for residue and that is a indication of engine head cover seal replacement.
(5) Check for hardened rubber seals and its replacement.

And many other things as one nears the 6 digit mileage marker.

Not sure where to source it from. 99rpm is a scam. They show sun visors and neck rests to be available. I made the order on May 6-7 and paid for it. I am yet to get delivery. The order says these items are in back order. If you look at product catalogue in 99rpm it says items are available to ship in 1-2 days. Is this not a scam?

Annual service update(10k interval)

I am following a mileage based service instead of timing and post Covid, usage is anyways increased.

I clocked 11k plus in last 10 months and so got the yearly service done. There was nothing alarming and it was just the usual service which costed me a shade less than ₹6k.

Considering the age, clutch is getting a bit hard and was advised to get it replaced. I have clocked 91300 kms till now on stock clutch. I have an upcoming Hyderabad trip and will get it done post that.

There are some battle scars and paint blemishes which I am thinking to take care later this year when TJET approaches 10 year mark.

H1 2023 was quite boring with just office drives. However, looks like H2 will be exciting with a few planned road trips.

Got the beauty washed and serviced in that order

Good to see a FIAT fan. I too bought a Linea 2012 1.3 updates version Dynamic variant.
Sold it to one of my friend after 8 years and 82000kms.

After 11 years, Now its done around 121000 kms.
Still its in stock timing chain, Clutch. But Blue and me have issues.

Very good car , but no resale value. Even it had lot of additional features and solid build.
Bought it for 10,56,000 INR and Sold it for 396000 after 8 years.

My brothers Swift bought for around 5.7 lakhs in 2010 and Sold in 2022 after 152000kms for 3.4 lakhs in Coimbatore.

Have installed ALP make struts. No more clicking noise but thuds on potholes are prominent now.

Linea is a beautiful car , Admiration Guaranteed , yours is looking gorgeous but even the siliver one with only the boot showing is looking brilliant.

Goa road trip
We did a Goa road trip last weekend. Though the monsoon didn’t quite made its mark this year in this part of country but it did sure exited with style. It was wonderful weather throughout the trip and rain didn't stopped for even a minute during our entire return journey.

We stayed at Candolim for the night and left for Mollem the next morning.

We left temple around 9:30 AM and were back at home around 9:30 PM
It was around 1070 kms of fun filled trip. I have updated about road conditions in the relevant thread. Linea performed splendidly in munching miles as usual.

98000 kms update.

Happy Diwali!


Drove to Raipur for Diwali and also visited Jagannath temple in Puri. This total trip added around 3300 kms to the tally.

Drove on Samruddhi Mahamarg for the first time and it is truly marvellous. I was able to reach home in flat 14 hours(1035kms) despite below average road conditions of NH53 between Bhandara,MH - MH/CG border. It always was minimum 18-19 hours earlier.

Maintenance
The stock clutch at 98000 kms is finally showing sign of age and is hardened quite a bit. I am planning to get it changed soon since office has become a 5 day affair now.

Changed the gearbox side engine mount as it had became quite brittle. I am planning to change the engine mount near timing belt as well.

The strut pads stock for left suspension are still coming defective and company is looking at some different vendors to procure the part.

Apart from this preventive maintenance, the Linea is performing exceptionally well. Hope this continues further.

Been following your thread for quite some time now. I own a 2013 Tjet as well having run just 46K Kms. I have to possibly change the GB mount as I get a weird nudge upon disengaging the clutch.

I have been hearing horror stories of the quality of the parts having degraded. Wanted to know of your experience and how you are managing this.

Hi Sai_ace, frankly speaking, apart from timing belt(which is working as expected), no major part change has been done on my Linea yet. The C(near gearbox) mount is changed recently and I have had no issues till now.

The horrible quality of strut pad is well known though and I am just living with it like all other FIAT owners.

My Linea is at FNG currently for the clutch and A mount replacement. Suspension replacement is also on the card since vehicle will be a decade old in a month. I want them to be replaced as a precautionary measure . As per FNG, only strut pads are coming defective, rest of the parts are quite fine.
