ok. its about 2600km now. still going strong as ever. somehow the steering feedback does not relate to the weight of the car at all. i now cover about 50km daily and the number crunching is going on in huge strides that aside, the ring road is an enjoyable drive beyond marathahalli upto KR puram bridge daily. at the moment an office life of 9am to 5:30 pm is doing good to mind health and body and to my car

finshed a 3000km run today on my swift Vdi. no incidents of any sort. i ve learnt to live with the rattles. have asked sai iyengar tyre shop to provide me with the BIT which is used to remove the alloys in case of a puncture at all. he has to procure it for me, its not normally available so easily and costs somewhere about 300 bucks.

OT: meanwhile, my knee is having a hard time and even tasks like climbing stairs are beginning to be a hard thing to do. am planning to take the office bus for a month or so to ease the pressure. damn this bangalore traffic. other than that Ive been too busily blogging on bangalore these days. i am eagerly looking forward to see what difference a second service can do to my car in terms of ease of use. i am very happy with the car though since its light on the pocket. on a different note i dont see any automatic car other than reva being available until another 4-5 years. simply because its unprofitable for any auto major to keep that going. this said, i d be looking at reva as another option too as my second car. another money saver

true, but if you work out the logistics of maintaining it, then you will be broke in 1 year. it gives anywhere between 6kmpl-9kmpl depending on your driving and it costs 4.7 lacs. for a driving of 50km daily it works out to 8k + per month even on a low calculation. the reva on the other hand costs 3.68 for an a/c version and takes Rs.500 per month to charge. simple.

geeky, 6-9kmpl is a little far fetched for the Santro AT. Do you know someone owning that car getting that mileage? There might be a problem in the car.

My office has 3 Santro AT's and none of them give below 10-11kmpl.

For ease of driving and relative low cost of maintenance it's a very good proposition.

vid, none of the santro ATs i ve heard gives that mileage. strange! of course the one giving 6kpl was on gear even in signals thereby consuming criminal amounts of petrol.

mobike - i didnt say accidents, i said incidents both are different

and oh yes i did finish 3k in all.

Geeksrik

You might want to get the rattles checked out. I have completed 7000 kms in my Swift D and have no rattles to speak off. This despite 3 out station trips, with almost 2 of them on bad roads. If the A.S.S is telling you that they can't fix them, then you are being taken for a ride. Good to see you enjoying the Swift D, believe you me, it gets better and better with every km you clock up.

Cheers!

Sorry for off topic but this is the best thread to ask the question as many Swift owners are around, i am getting mine in next 15-20 days and just wanted to know whats the best order to get all other fixings done in car, i am going for alloys, new rubbers, music system, remote lock, leather seat covers along with doors trims, steering and gear knob and may be some small stuff which i missed.
And all these things i am getting from diffefent guys to save money. Thanks in advance.
