Jomz, ofcourse i remember the episode. Guess you would be the best one to comment on the comfort factor in that case.

John, how did you arrive at that conclusion? Looks like too much of wine on your birthday.

10,000 kms and going strong

Finally, another major milestone reached.
MIKE is now 10,000 kms young, and going good.

This came up on the weekend, and so i decided to gift him a good wash.
Took him to the car wash, making sure that the weather Gods too were in favour. He came out from the wash looking all splendid, and thats when the rain Gods conspired, and decided to let loose. The drive from the car wash to my house saw him back to his previously mucky state, however this time its something i can clean on my own.

Crazy traffic conditions make me hate using the car for office commutes. Relative lack of activity these days is thus explained.

10,000 kms 'young' is correct. Congrats MIKE!

My old maruti 800 was at her best after 25k kms. I feel the engine gets younger and younger every day with more and more kms. (till engine starts showing its age after 60k- 80k kms and all)

Congrats mike. At last your owner decided to give you a bath. Maybe you should keep achieving milestones if you want to be clean.

Too bad mike, you only get washed after achieving milestones.

God almighty, this miser keeps a track of money spent on fuel for this beauty.

Also sad that the car gets a good bath only when it reaches a milestone.
So when is the next bath due Benny? 15k or 20k?

How did i miss this thread all these days.. good write up Benny..Man you are way too organised to keep count of howmuch money you spent on Gas. I only keep count of the petrol bills which i have to submit once in a quarter only then i come to know i spent somuch.. Congratulations to you and Mike and wish you happy driving for the forthcomming milestones..
But just a bath for 10K kms is bad Benny you should celebrate with like minded ikonians.. and bhpians!!

Good comments, guys !!

I wash/try to wash the car atleast twice every week, depending upon time availability. The visits to the car wash are more during the rainy season, or when i am overly lazy.

I guess nothing can beat this :
When me and wifey used to have these petty fights earlier, i used to go and wash the car. Helped to soothe the frayed nerves, and calm down.
When my friends started associating a clean car with troubles in the house, i laid to rest that practice.

Guys,

I have checked out few shops for alloys wheels my panther Ikon , a bit confused btw Neo ( Indian) and League, Plati , HR. All are almost in similar range for a set of 5 -13".( around 15k)

Let me know ur thought if i should keep my old stock wheels and go for new alloys or should i trade in.

I am also intending to add a rear spolier, Ford guys gave me a quote of 8k+( toooooooo much).Aftremarket range is around 3-4k with piant, my only worry is the quality of fitment /work.

Post your thoughts/suggestions.

VC12, PM me your email address, and i shall forward it to you.
As for the spoiler, 8K+ is way too much, as quoted by the Ford accessories guys.
