Mag, even with the crazy traffic conditions, your car is returning good mileage figures. Between, you drive with a light foot, i suppose.

I dont suppose i would be there for many days. Also Tvm is much further south. I would be in Kottayam near Kumarakom.

Yes. Think they've already stopped it. Been more than a month.

So are they planning to survive with only Fiesta? I don't think they sell more than a handful of Fusions or even Endy's?

Ikon mileage

Great to read about Ikon and Ikon fans.

A lot of discussion on mileage, well we can understand why! My Ikon (odometer reading ~6000kms with AC 70-80%) gives 10-12 kmpl in Pune (very short drives, 1.5 to 4kms), about 15 kmpl on highways and about 18-19 kmpl on the expressway. I am pretty sure these numbers will change as soon as I shift to Shell.

Dan, any confirmed source for this info?

Just back from a road trip to Kerala with the car. Got 19kmpl as my personal mileage record on one of the drives.

That apart, the crater infested roads of Tamil Nadu along with high speed driving from me, ensured that the car came back with two flying wheelcaps, and two bent rims on the front wheels. Managed to salvage one of the wheelcaps, while the other one i seem to have donated to the TN roads department.

Should get the car attended to over the coming weekend. It looks rather ugly now with the black and bent rims.

Finally attended to Mike over the weekend. Got the wheel rims straightened out, and also wheel balancing and alignment done, along with rotation of all 5 wheels.

The steering wobbling which was present earlier has now been taken care of with the above job. There still is some slight rattle which needs to be taken care of. Since i was in a hurry wasnt able to offer the service guys the liberty to fiddle around and explore.

With one wheelcap being donated to the TN roads department, i had to purchase a new one which cost Rs.460/-. Finally its back to having all 4 of them.

Will put up a pic tomorrow.

@nikunj, with the occassional highway runs that would be coming up this year, i fear for the alloys if i were to upgrade to them. Its not in my nature to keep going slow over huge craters, specially when they seem to have no end in sight, and i feel i would definitely crack them for sure.

That said, i would defintely love to upgrade.
