re: Tata Indigo Marina Dicor LX. The fun continues beyond 1,00,000 kms!

The list of errors and omissions as per the last service fiasco were:
1. They broke the plastic connector on the wind shield wiper fluid pipes and left the pipes hanging loose in the engine bay. Did not even bother to fill the washer fluid.
2. They did not connect the AC condensor switch and left it hanging loose.
3. The car was not even dusted off all the grease and soil and filth let alone washing and vacuuming.
4. The entire dash board has black grease stains and looks downright ugly.
5. None of the ziptie holders inside the engine bay were replaced and the entire loom has been left hanging .

I think this was my last visit to the TASS ever.

re: Tata Indigo Marina Dicor LX. The fun continues beyond 1,00,000 kms!

The car got a new set of Michelin XM2 185/65/14 @ 4800/- per tire with the ode reading 93851. The faithful also completed a long 2400 km journey across the Southern NE to Mizoram. Once again it scored over some of the worst roads the country had to offer. The plus point being that it once again drove deep into Myanmar and we visited the Rih Dil lake through Zokawthar in Mizoram.
The negative being that a biker broke my left tail light and am not getting the spare anywhere. Fellow marina owner, ex owner now, is helping source the part. Grateful to Srinivas for taking the pains.
Another issue is intermittent check engine lig̱ht which is throwing up the following temporary error codes.
P0115- Coolant Temp Signal- Generic
P0118- Coolant Temp Signal- High
P1193- Rail pressure high- when ignition switched on.
P0380- Glow plug Driver Fault.

Need help as I am not able to trust the TASS here anymore for repairs. Also the temp gauge is showing no reading and the TASS is not interested in changing the sensor. They want to test their own way and which frankly I am not confident about as they go about in a hit and trial manner.

There used to be a great technician at Concorde Motors Bangalore named Chetan. He was an expert in Dicor engines. Let me see if he is still around here. He can probably guide the local guy there if possible. He was my trusted semi personal technician at TASS.

re: Tata Indigo Marina Dicor LX. The fun continues beyond 1,00,000 kms!

As she inches closer to the 1,00,000 km mark, I thought it was time to give her some more TLC and a small make over.
1. The dashboard had been spoilt a few years back by the TASS by applying some weird polish which had made it a dirt magnet. It was so sticky that I did not need an anti slip dash mat to keep stuff. The dash was taken off, once again, and cleaned with a PU thinner and then repainted. I have got it painted in Matt Black to match the new Red and Black theme inside.
2. The fabric inserts in the door pads were changed to black rexine.
3. New Seat covers were ordered from AliExpress and fixed at home itself.

Apart from the above the following mechanical faults were rectified.
1. Replaced the water temp indicator switch. Cost 350 Rs
2. Replaced the alternator belt and pulley. Cost 340 and 550 Rs respectively.

cost of labour paid was about 800 for both the above jobs.

re: Tata Indigo Marina Dicor LX. The fun continues beyond 1,00,000 kms!

As the car is inching towards the 1,00,000 km mark I decided to give it a make over. Got the dashboard painted black, now in the process of putting some wood colored Vinyl on the centre console. Also got the bumpers painted yesterday for the usual scruffs and scratches but unfortunately it rained at night and now some colour has run off. will need to get it addressed.

re: Tata Indigo Marina Dicor LX. The fun continues beyond 1,00,000 kms!

The Marina drove across the entire country over 4300 kms from Jorhat, Assam to Chandigarh during March. Lots of luggage 2 adults, 2 kids and a teenager across some bad lands and it did it without a whimper. The marina has clocked 1,06,000 kms by now.

I sat in this car while at Chandigarh when I met wandernomad earlier this week. The car has done a great journey and I see it still in great shape. Miss my own marina.

Not seeing much action for the last 6 months as I am busy with the GV. Also sent it for a major overhaul by way of preventive replacing of all hoses and pipes, whatever need even the slightest correction. Expecting it back later this weekend and then planning on putting it to what it does best, work. Odo is about 1,15,500.
