But seriously, you've got a recent paint job ? Else, which wax, polish etc ?

Wow! Great going, nikki! It is good to know the car is this healthy even after 70K kms. You are the one guy who I know, who really explores the limits of the car without actually abusing it. Really good news on the clutch!

Yes, for you, the Neovas may not be overkill, heh heh.

Could you tell me how much the Dinitrol job came to? Is there any reduction in road noise after the treatment?

Thanks dude!
Costed me Rs.1700/- including the 3 yr warranty card. Neatly done. Checked the underbody thoroughly before taking delivery.
Noise reduction is negligible. Doesn't make MUCH differance.

Engine Check Light

Yesterday, while I was ripping back home for lunch, suddenly felt a 'boost' of power while overatking a bus. Pulled to side of the road, there it is....Engine check light is glowing!!!! Idling is highly erractic from 1000 to 3000 rpm!!! Checked the engine side for abnormal sounds, over heating, compression leaks etc etc... everything normal!

Drove it straight to MSM. Connected the OBD Tool. It shows "Speed Sensor Malfunction"!!!!! Checked the sensor and its connections. The magnetic sensing portion was full of sediments of Gear oil. Cleaned it and put back. Error code GONE!!

STILL the idling is erratic and CEL is glowing!!!
After lots of dicussions and brain storming sessions, decided to check IAC(Idle Air Control) sensor and drive motor. So removed the throttle body, dismatled for thorough cleaning. Findings were Shocking.
IAC sensor was covered with thick layer of carbon. Stepper Motor was almost stuck due to excessive carbon deposit around it. Cleaned both thoroughly and put back the throttle body. SOLVED!

Guess this will help other Swift-ers in future.

Mods, A quick search in the Technical Section didn't pointed me to any suitable thread to post this. Kinldy merge suitably if there is a specific thread for SWIFT(P) - CHECK ENGINE LIGHT.

3rd set of tyres at 77777 kms.

Yes.. time for a new set of tyres for my baby! This car always amazed me with its performance abilities. So thought of going for some exotic set of tyres this time.

WHAT WENT OUT?!
YOKOHAMA S-Drives of size 205/55/R15. This set did worked for a good distance of 37,000 + kms. Thatz some serious miles for that tyre eh! huh.. anyways.. am tooo happy that they served me very very well.

WHAT GOES IN?!
YOKOHAMA ADVAN NEOVAS - AD 07. of size 205/55/R15. (on Nitrogen)
First lemme salute "adiyta86" who helped me get the tyres thru this close contacts. That was an yummy yummy deal dude... THANKS AGAIN! Tyres came to me @ 7.3k per tyre.

Well... The initial experience with Neovas are really interesting. I never experienced this much of road holding characteretics with any car... and so the feel of rolling resistance is all new to me!
Secondly, the suspension system gone tight and precise! But suspension works beautifully as the link rods and bushes have been replaced at 70k service.
Thirdly, am keeping a close watch on FE from now onwards. I really feel that there will be a good pinch on those figures.
Loss in top speed and cornering abilities are yet to put on test. Will do that once it is run-in properlly.
Will update later...

Awesome stuff!! Welcome to the AD07 club

You will experience road holding of the kind never felt before. You will feel like you are bending the laws of physics!

Congrats, Nikki! Your car deserved nothing less, right from the time you started driving it.

37000 kms is an achievement for those tyres more so because you are behind the wheel At this rate, I guess I am certain of getting 45K or so from my set heh, heh.

Bullshit man! Dont go for such stuffs. The normal 'Teflon' work is more than enough!!!
But I love the Dinitron underbody treatment. Underbody looks neat and fresh after every underbody wash.

Okie. Howz the ride in NHC with Neovas? My DAD's NHC is with XM1 of same size as of yours. Ride is too good and performance is far better than the stock size tyres.
