I didnt feel that the vehicle is too under powered even if the A/C is on. It is quite OK for city driving. Since I have clocked less than 2000, I havent tried out going fast in the Highways. But I feel it is fine. If Swift was as spacious and good looking as Getz, definitely I would have gone for it...

I too own a Getz1.1. With the A/C on if you had to brake and you try to move on while still in 2nd gear you feel the power drop, else it is ok. Even with 5 people in the car, on the Bangalore-Mysore highway the car was quite responsive. Because of the weight, you really get comfortable with this car on the highway. It just sits perfectly. Anyway one cannot cross 40 on Bangalore roads and being a very defensive driver, i do not cross 80 on highways. This car perfectly suits people like me.
You have comfortable room for 5 people in the car and decent boot space too. What more can you ask for.

cheerios
