VW Passat - 1st car delivered in India

Well what a way to start the 500th post..

Got the delivery of the FIRST VW PASSAT IN INDIA (As claimed by VW mumbai dealer) on 25th September.

Well lots has been said about the car and many of us know about it.
Just a few tit bits from my side..

Plus Points -

1. Excellent driveability- Drive from Panvel to Pune was just awesome. The car really handles and holds the road well.

2. The car comes completely loaded hence there isnt much you can ask for. Some features like DSG, Auto hold for city driving, Bi-xenon, Sport seating in Nappa leather with full 8 way adjustment, Clutter free instrumentation, Parktronic, Sunblind for rear windows, Rain sensors, Auto lighting, Great In-dash VW info system, Start Stop Push button in which the key is inserted, Scratched aluminium inserts and a really big boot space are really nice.

3. Peppy 2.0 TDI engine which provides great acceleration and effort free driving

Minus Points -

1. Hard suspension- Stiff suspension is really good for handling but i guess it could have been a little softer to provide that luxury feel. But i guess since they have provided sport seating stiffer suspension must have been on their mind to give you the feel.

2. Rear leg space- Its more than sufficient but 2 inches more would have made a world of a difference.

Well since its only 2 days old this is all i can really comment about the car.
Will give more details as and when I come across them. Pictures will follow tomorrow..

Cheerss

Congrats Bhushan. Indeed it is a lovely car.
What you forgot to add re the plus points:

# Eight airbags
# Auto engaging and disengaging of the parking brakes whenever the vehicle comes to a standstill and then starts.
# Three way memory adjustment for the drivers seat (only)

Saw the car today as the showroom from where you got your car has been officially launched today and is owned by a dear friend.
Thought the car was a lot overpriced for it being a CKD and not a CBU.
Enjoy the wonderful car.

Yes it is a little stepply priced but all the gizmos add to the cost and secondly the first few cars are almost CBU. I found assembly record sheets in the car which had german language on it and signatures of german employees on the manufacturing check list. Since the car was given to me in a hurry they must have forgotten to remove the same..
