Oohh. What a post !! Absolute touching - touches straight to the heart only by reading it.

Amit - I can understand your emotions. I myself am very possessive about my car & love my earlier car & am missing her so much. After reading thro' your thread & other's posts who also own S10, I can only imagine what would have happened to me had I also owned an S10 at parting moment.

Your signature says "Its coming". So, whats coming? Its Jazz, right?

Amit, That's really touching post. I know how it feels..

I also got inspiration from your thread and booked one when TATA-FIAT partnership started and mine was the first one to be manufactured in Canary yellow color in APR-2006. It is BSIII, with reduced initial accleration compared to the GTX. S10 has a world of its own and nothing comparable to it even GTX.

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...e-charges.html

Really great car and I love my car so much that, my wife starting to hate her.

When I was talking to a Service advisor, what FIAT did to GTX to make it to BSIII, was that putting cat converter close to the engine exhaust and making the exhaust gas circulation more so that to control the emission. Thus reducing the power of new Palio 1.6 (BSIII).

Whatever it is, there is no dearth of power when you need and Palio 1.6 cleanly pulls out on any of the gear and is stable at even a higher speed @ 150KMPH.

I am lucky to get your signature on my id

My car photo though not matachable to S10.

I chanced upon this thread only today. The first posts and the review are truly worthy of a great, and greatly misunderstood car. Even today, after all these years, you will not be able to buy a car with this fit and finish around the price point. Maybe even at points a few steps above it.

To all of you who read through and commented on this thread, I thank you for all the kind words and for sharing the excitement that I felt every time, I, as much as, looked at the car.
Do not worry Amit as a Palio lover I would try to live up to ur and others expectation about the Car.
I myself own a Palio 1.2, registered Apr 02.Believe me its is rock solid.
To top it all, though I am a second owner for her ,She still turns head around and can give any new car owner a run fo the money.
Will post the Pics soon on to another thread
amit the way u have described kept me glued to the screen until and unless I finished all the seven pages at a strech. though it was an emotional ending.
Hard Choice but some things happen for a reason and it's better to not go an Q? again ryt ???
Thanks for the HO. I indebted to u since I myself am a loyal FIAT Palio fan

Not Driving Fast .. Flying Low is my ATTITUDE.

check engine bay - it should have traces of yellow - check behind the floor matting and the bootlid cover (where the rear wiper mechanism is placed). colour code is mentioned somewhere below the driver's seat.

oops! pretty old thread

I think the door sill mentions the exact number of the car as only 400 were made. So a badge like this should be present.

Also the Exhaust is different from other Palio 1.6s

The Doors have the s10 badge, the alloys are different (7 spoke) than the telephone dial design of GTX. Interirs are different - Seat Fabric, Leather gear knob & steering wheel ( with read colour stiching). The original seat fabric id velvet gret with s10 embroised in red color.

I cant remember about anything else right now.

The 1.6 TORQUE engine is one of the many jewels in Fiat's crown and has been used world over in many models. It impresses with it's power delivery and driveablity. The Palio 1.6 is a car that will make you take the long route home. It will make you go for a drive just for the heck of it and after you come home and park it for the night it's gorgeous looks will ensure you give it a 2nd,3rd and maybe even a 4th look before you go into your house. After dinner you may find yourself at the window giving it a last longing look before you switch off the lights for the night. When you close your eyes you will hope morning comes soon so you can get back into the car!.
As of now , I am very happy at my decision to go in for the Palio. Great Car.
Thank you Fabrique Italino Automobilo Torino.
hi, its been a while since we have heard about your car. Do you still have it or you sold it off?

I was planning to buy a Palio 1.6 and there is a seller of a 2002 S10. So just wanted to check with you if its worth a buy? And does the car have the capability of holding itself for 10 years and more? Any things that I should specifically check in the car before purchasing it?
Any other advice related to this?

Re: Fiat Palio S10. Now updated to 72,000 kms!

Amit's car changed hands twice: Amit > Varun > Jay

Nothing better than a well aged car check for:
1. Timing Belt Replacement
2. Idle / Fixed timing bearing replacement
3. Aux belts replacement
4. General Service history / Insurance / Road tax, etc
