Looks good! How much did the Xenons cost ya mate.

Also how about starting another thread - Civic owners thread - so as to prevent the long term ownership thread of ST getting as off topic as his threads (not due to him in any way) go...

The HIDs are white only... 6k is white with very little blue tinge.
The halos are blue.

Below is the pic with HID and Halos on together...(also indicator light is on).

I guess some one wanted to know the compression ratio.

Indian Civic uses 10.5 compression ratio. It is mentioned in the manual.

Only Pakistan and Vietnam (I think) have 9.5 compression ratio...

In the manual it is explicitely mentioned about Pakistan Vientnam but no mention about India separately so that we are assuming that Indian Civic compression ratio is 10.5 unless otherwise clarified.

This brings back my fundamental question about how much an ECU can compensate if we use regular 87 Octane. As far as my theortical knowledge about IC engine even 91 Octane is grossly in adqueate for 10.5 compression ratio.

Somebody who does ECU programming in this forum for Cars can enlighten all of us. I will be able to understand it since I was into embedded system programming in early 10 years of career, but for Satellite communication equipments.

I finished my 25k kms servicing last week. Though i insisted on oil change, the supervisor said that they visually inspected the oil and didnt find any reason to change it. i had some suspicion on the cluth, but again nothing cropped up.
they charged the usual 600rs for servicing, 300rs for pick-up and drop, and with taxes, etc, the total was 1800rs.

Hello to all Civic owners,

Here's another entrant to your club. Got myself a Black 1.8 S M.T.

Lovely piece of machinery, I must say.

Have driven it for about 800 kms in 2 weeks in regular city conditions and am already getting an FE of around 10 ! I use Speed 93 and use A/c at all times. Have limited the RPM to within 2.5k. Should I try out ordinary unleaded fuel?

Even my car is an August '07 model, although I took delivery only on 16th. Nov. Looks like a lot of Civics available of late are from the August batch. I was told by my dealer that production of the Civic had stopped for sometime in October.

So, so far..so good. No underbelly scraping. I too have had the same experience shared by a few users with the climate control.

The only issue I seem to have is with finding the perfect seating position in the drivers seat.

Is there anything else I should worry about?

@marjun

I think the badge indicating the date of manufacture is visible once you open the left front door.

I think the Civic discussions/reports ae just falling off. We do not have a report or addition in 10-12 days. Shows that the Civic is not that exciting a car anymore now.

alankarm, this forum is to add value and share experiences. Not to unnecessarily create traffic.

We have already discussed the car in detail, and I assume many people looking to make a decision would be coming and gaining from it.
When some one has something NEW they will definitely come and share here

After much contemplation and going back and fourth (being so spoiled for choice now) I finally booked my civic today !
Years of happy motoring with the c200 cdi has given way to the fantastic civic. Delivery is scheduled for the second week of Jan and we did manage to get 20K off on showroom since its manufacture year would be 2007.

Just a couple of quick questions:
Ive been curious to check if anyones been pulled over using Xenons. Ive had them on the benz and was pulled over a couple of times but managed to get away by explaning to them that it was stock.(I did have a set of projector headlamps too)
The civic dosent have projectors and they arent available either so i dont know if i'dd beable to get away with that even if i did have xenons on. Plus the glare that xenons create on stock reflectors is hideous and dangerous.
Inputs / experiences ?

Thanks to everyone for their feedback and takin the time out to post experiences here ! it certainly made making the decision a lot easier.
cheers.
