Yup, saw the ad and can't wait to try it. I think its time to call Nummer Eins this time.
I wonder what the price is though...

You won't believe, but Nitronix is 6 ft 4. And the seat was completely down. In any position he was complaining about both, legroom and headroom. Poor guy kept saying "position is spot-on, alas i should have been half a foot shorter."

Well Lambo, if he's 6.1, I doubt he will be comfy in any seat of the Octi.
However, there is hope...the new Octi should be out by the end of next year...complete with added interior space!

Well to update this thread.
Its been almost a year since I've had this car. March 15th 2005 is one year. Skoda's measly warranty runs out in 6 days. With no extended warranty worth taking, we're on our own with the Octi now.
After a slow start, the Octi made up for lost time putting in big mileages (atleast for me) in the last few months. The odo reading is past the 14,000km mark. The last 8,000 km or so have been hard driving over bad roads and with a full car load of people and luggage and the Octi has held up really well. It still looks and smells new inside and aside from the usual Bombay traffic scratches on the wing mirrors, looks as good as new outside.
Problems faced in the first year:
- Rear door rattle. Fixed once, but has started up again recently. This is a chronic problem for most Skoda's and something they should surely look into and resolve.
- reverse gear detent developed a problem which made shifting into reverse difficult. this was fixed and the problem has not come back to haunt me just yet.
- Just recently the horn has been getting stuck. There seems to be some problem with the steering boss, which at times gets stuck when depressed. this will be sorted out soon.
Aside from these minor problems, the Octi has been a reliable and enjoyable car to live with. I hope it remains like that once the warranty is over.

Yippee...it has been a long wait!
So when is the car getting chipped? or is all the money currently being diverted to the "find Rtech a bike" fund?

lol. I don't need to say anymore do I. Poor Rudra ran off to Kolkata to get as much distance between him and Mumbai!

But still no escape!
No pal, I really want you to get a good bike asap. I can't see that sad face every time you see a 600+.

agree: and Rtech now i know what Rudra meant when he said RT takes a life time to decide ! lol:
guys guys...gimme a break will ya!
Rudra, i talk about the bike in much the same way to talk about your dream digicam!
NC, an offer has been made, but the other party has to accept as well! To repeat a statement I made in a different post...its not like I can go into a showroom and ride out on a bike like that!

And in that thread it was targeted at me.. LOL....
Congrats to u for being with the car for a yr..
Hey Rtech,
best of luck for yur bike.
Get it soon and take us bombayites for a ride.
oh and suprisingly, 2 6 footers, 3 5.8 footers fit in the octy but everyones head was touching.
Still impressed with the car and surprisingly even my dad doesn't mind one now.
Looking for one right now. Any plans to sell of your car in the next 15 days?
