That is a really nice looking car. Congratulations NIP. How is handling vis-a-vis the petrol?

I just love the Ford Fusion. The only single most reason for me not going in for one is that the diesel engine in the car is quite lethargic compared to the modern day diesels. Wish the company would do something about the power output.

There's a more powerful 1.6 diesel too that sells in Europe.

Hai,

Congrats and a great choice. I've had a petrol fusion for 2 years and was a great car to drive. The vision, drivability and stability are one of the best.

Have fun,

Enjoy Macha!! Now you have a mini-truck for when you dont want to use your other truck

Also Im seeing so many more fusions on road since the day you mentioned you were getting one. Maybe its just that Im keeping an eye out for you behind the wheel that im spotting so many, lol.

Polk MRP is pretty steep for what it offers. What have you finalized? Link me if you have posted regarding this somewhere else.

Hey, Congrats on ur new purchase, always liked the looks of the Fusion. Ive driven the Petrol version and found the ride a lil stiff, is there any major changes w.r.t the ride stiffness??

well...showroom chap said 20-22...and i'm pretty darn sure it'll return around 18-20 on the highway because its the same 1.4 TDCi engine thats on the fiesta. most ford diesels retuen around this mileage on the highway, and i've been driving ford diesels since the escort.

Congrats dude !!
There's been a lot of talk about FF Tyres being too noisy when driving at high speeds.
Also heard some comments that the 60 aspect ratio tubeless tyres are the cause of the high noise levels while on the highway.

Please do drop in your opinion on this.

souljah...i havent finalized on the ICE setup yet, but polk seems to be one of the few brands that make 5x7 components and coaxials. yes it did seem a tad overpriced, but what other options do i have ? i'm lookin for a stealth install in the door pods.

another brand is boston, and it sounded pretty good too. as you've seen, i have a JBL setup in my scorpio, and i'm a little wary of JBL. not that they sound bad, but their build quality is a little delicate. if you install them flat (horizontally) they are ok, but if you install them vertically, the plastic hinges just snap...all the grills on my scorpio are now off..and i even blew my JBL 6x9's running off the JBL 75.4 amp. only my front compos are working now. need to get a new set of 6x9 coaxs for the back now. besides, JBL doesn't have 5x7 coaxials AFAIK.

let me know...would love some input on ICE before i spend the $$$s. maybe i should start a new thread in the ICE section ??

hey nip, cool looking cars. i specifically liked the interiors they are soothing to the eye, the seats specially! and the mileage is pretty good for that car. after driving the swift diesel and being a victim of roller-coaster-aeroplane-take-off-phobia, i am forced to think by the discussions above that the fusions engine is much less agile but still worth for the car. any idea on its torque and bhp values?

didnt quite understand this ?!? But here are the engine specs:

Engine Type: 4 Cyl. In-Line, 8-V SOHC
Construction: All Aluminum Alloy
Fuel System: High Pressure Common Rail
Engine Displacement (cc): 1399
Compression Ratio: 18:01
Max. Power (ps/rpm): 68/4000
Max. Torque (nm/rpm): 160/2000
Emission Stage: Bharat Stage III
Transmission: 5 Speed Manual

driving around the city, i can definitely feel a little turbo lag, just like the fiesta, especially in the second gear (same as swift ddis?). but its very easy to drive. once it hits the 1800/2000 RPM, the burst in power is superb ! the engine and specs are exactly same as the fiesta, so if you've driven a fiesta diesel, you know what to expect. my other car is a scorpio, and although the fusion is nowhere close to the sheer brute power of the scorp, shes delightful to drive around !

latest update on mileage: last fill, i got 225 kms on 13.7 liters of turbojet (500 bucks). that translates to 16.42 kms to the litre with 90% A/C in bangalore. i'm mighty pleased waiting to see what she returns on the highway...!!
