3L Safari Beast- 3 Years of Ownership

Its been 17 mths since we are having this Beast at home.

Oh what a wonderful car.

We've clocked 13500 kms on it so far,

We are a family of 6 adults and 1 kid, this has been a true family mover for us on our long distance holidays.

Thanks to this we've stopped using the Services of the Travel agency.

Earlier we used to have our trips in a tempo traveller. This car changed the whole dimension of our holiday.

The Beast is still maintained the same way it came out of the show room.

People talk about niggles in this car.

Mine are here to list.
1) Power steering hose had a light leak,- Replaced within 25 mins at Manipal under warranty.
2) Clutch was hard-Replaced within 1 hr at Manipal, under warranty.

17 mths and this is what i've been through.

ICE done on the beast are:

1) Stripped out the the original Speakers and went in for
a) Front row-MBQuart Components and tweeters.
b) Mid row - MB Quart Speakes
c) Rear - MB Quart 12 inch Sub woofer

2) Used a Sony 4 channel amp.
3) Ducked out the original HU to the M-800 and added Sony DVD 2000 Series.
4) Head rest monitors are on the way from Xenos(pricol)

TYRES:--Got rid of the Tube type and went in for the same size and make Bridgestone Tubeless.

Your "beast" looks very well maintained, why dont you go for a side cladding colour, it will look amazing with it.

Thanks Dadu,

As of now not getting bored with the existing set up, may be will get the cladding painted by around 2009.

I've already got the full chrome grill in front from the VX and also got the Spare tyre cover painted fully red.

It'll again be a new car to me after those changes. Thanks againg DADU.

Hi BUSA,

1) Sony 2000 series DVD cost around - 11000/-
2) MB-Quart kit(Comp/Speaker/Tweeter/Sub) - 26000/-
3) Sony 4 Ch amp - 4200/-
4) Head rest screens (Xenos) will arrive next week- 10000/-

Contemplating on buying the Rearview mirror with camera. already crossed my budget.

Maybe i need to wait patiently.

It'll all come someday.

I can see the infosys Mysore dome in the background which is accessible to the employees and its families.

Your name i.e, Kadam part sounds familiar to me and do the names Arvind or Sunil Rao increase activity in your brain

Dude with such a nice setup and speakers, why a stupid amp from Sony, dump the amp and get a more powerful amp and see the difference for yourself.

And ya Ice pickture.

Muni,

I am Gowtam Kadam's(Anup). Brother Pavan.

We got this car on his Birthday.

There seems to be more brain activity with u rather than me.

Sunil's my cousin and Arvind works at Infy with Anup.

Didnt know it was u on this forum.

Muni seemed very familiar, Good to know its you.
