No I haven't because I couldn't go there. I'll tell Jaggu to ask Gopal. In that way you'll get a better reply.

What about you car, whether the temperature is maintained in 80 to 90 in cities when AC switched on.
No. It used to be around 90 plus.

My plan is to remove the electric fan which was in front of condensor and try to fit in front of radiator..
You already have one in front of the radiator. Idea is to suck in cold air from outside and pass it through condenser. Besides, you don't have space to fit in another fan.

Re: HM Ambassador - At 45th year. Reincarnation process in progress.

Gopal was working alone this week so progress was slow, his tinker (Mamu) is out of action due to bad back, his right hand man (Babu) has gone to his wife house

Still the old man has finished the steering set up by himself.

Got a chance to compare it with latest Amby install, thanks to another vehicle that has come in for some transmission work. Thought its a diesel one.

The amount of re-work was underestimated, due to one small difference between the cars. The bell housing. New models have a wedge to accomodate the rack, where as the old one does not have!

The new collapsible steering assembly and the new shorter arm. Have decided to go with the new ones since the old ones were sitting too high after bending. Which mean will hit the firewall when the suspension gets compressed.

Work is supposed to gather pace this week, with the return of the work force. Keeping fingers crossed.

So what is he planning now? Getting a new gearbox bell housing?

Hope work starts full swing from tomorrow.

No need for new GB, the required clearance was already achieved. Rework was required to fix the old GB that is all.

Exactly 15 days and there had been no progress.
Frail looking muslim tinker guy (mamu) is out of action. He had twisted his back and can't move I believe.
Babu, Gopal's right hand man had pushed off with his wife for their 4th honeymoon (just guessing though).
Other help (forgot his name) had been missing on and off (why not?).

So today, it was only Gopal who could do some long pending work.

Obviously Gopal is going through labour pain for good reason..

Re: HM Ambassador - At 45th year. Reincarnation process in progress.

After a long gap of almost 8 days, work started again.
Frankly speaking, only consolation here is Gopal's work. Whatever he has done till date is absolute precision.
This also means that work is going to continue for long.

Setting up door and roof line gaps.

Checking vertical door shut line gaps.

Platform/door work to start from today.

What difference is expected between old curved dashboard beam and new straight beam?

Essentially two. One is to allow the plastic dashboard to sit properly and second is to allow the collapsible steering column sit straight.
If you remember old Amby had steering angle tilted right side.

From boiling heat of Chennai to rain drenched bombay. Haven't seen the work for a week now. Yes, I have the same question here too. Guys, please check with Gopal about that. As things stand today, I can only get back to Bangalore by Tuesday.

Thanks for keeping me posted.
