Odo @ 41850 kms, Focus Motors,Alapuzha, Mobil Delvac MX

Changed engine oil to Mobil Delvac MX. Cost me 18XX for 8 litres. Got it changed at Focus Motors,Alapuzha (they are TASS). Also flushed with BG (Rs. 700) and 161Rs for oil filter. Think they charged 100rs for Oil change.

I now have a oil filter with me which I had bought from a Tata spare parts dealer (Swaraj Motors). Seems they had sold me the oil filter for 3.0 ! and it costed more! (240Rs? or so)

The overall service at Focus was far better than what I had received from Kulathungal Motors.

And did the oil change help ?
It did. I should have changed it long before. Engine sound at idle is more muted when you stand outside and Safari pulls more smoothly towards 3 digit speed.

JK , did you escalate their refusal? You said you planned to talk with someone..
I Can't believe those refused to do the oil change with delvac MX. Now even I'm not sure they will let me this time

Either way, the recommended interval for me is 10k. Had my oil changed at 20k, and next one is 'required' at 30k, by which time my car should be out of warranty.

whether they want to do my 25k service is entirely up to them

JK, i feel you shouldnt have blackened the C pillars. Doing the B pillar alone should have sufficed.

The blackened pillar looks great! Gives it a new cool look.

I loved it!

IMHO, the blackening on the C pillar is not neatly done.

Liked the b and c pillar blackening. The idea is good but the work is not neat. I think you should re-do it so that it matches the width of the glass on both sides.

Yeah! You could try Red

JK,

due to difference in height of quarter glass and rear window glass, i dont think we can have a straight line at the bottom, still you can try with having some extra tape at the bottom of quarter glass.

But even if you remove the c pillar tape, it will also look good.

cheers

You need to get a slightly slanted cut. Just make sure that the bottom and top ends are in line with the glass on either side with sufficient curve between. I'm sure it would look awesome.. Just see 2nd pic with a long view from the side (beside the paddy fields). You cant really make where the edges end and it looks great to me. You might need to do a few trials before fixing on the design. Try cutting out a paper/cardboard before cutting the black sticker. I'm wondering why no one else tried this.

Try starting a little lower on the rear door, curving it up and going straight to the lower end of the rear quarter glass.

That stand is right inside the town, approximately 600m from my house.
