odo @ 44001kms

Mirror assembly is costly ! Had to change it; the whole assembly coz the old one broke due to a stupid jay walker.

There was a free check up at Kulathungal. All liquids checked, wheels checked (all these happened in front of my eyes). They filled up the radiatior, thats all. Got free gift (banana chips and chakkara varatti ).
And a free wash

I will get 20% and 5% reduction on labour and parts respectively as bonus coz I came for the free check up.

I went for a booked service there last tuesday, got the car back on thursday, with half the work done, and I have to go back this tuesday, and get the work completed. didnt go for the free service because well, i thought the stuff would be covered already.

but a 20% discount because you went there this weekend . Life is so unfair

I feel your pain, brother. My Baleno's driver side ORVM was hit by a Indica taxi. Assembly would have cost 5K, however managed to solve the situation for 150 bucks using some Araldite and replacement mirror. My assembly was not damaged, thankfully.

Went there for rear view replacement and since my Safari was their, it went for that circus. Its of no point as 45k service is coming up. But chips etc was good

Was charged almost 900 Rs for painting the rear view mirror pod!

That does not sound good. Keep an eye on radiator levels. I would suggest check everyday morning (before starting the engine) the level of coolant. For a normal car in normal operation the radiator check should not have revealed any drop in coolant level. Read tsk1979 thread on his machine and how coolant leak spoiled his vacation.

Enjoy your beast!!

Kulathungal does a great job with painting; from experience. You can ask Xinome and Immortalz as they checked out the work. You can too as you know where my Safari is parked and comment. Try to figure out which they replaced

There is a new shop called Venus; ought to visit them for a hi.

Thanks for your input. I will keep an eye on it.

I think they didnt have any thing else to do with my Safari and hence filled few ml , not sure though.

Odo @ 45315

Time for 4th service and hence gave it to Kulathungal

1) asked not to change oil as I had changed it at 42000
2) fix the krr krr ! I drove a new Safari two weeks back and it was s m o o t h !
3) Squeaking noise when I brake. No marks for guessing; SA called up and said I need to get new brake pads. 3.5k or so
4) Tail door squeak.

I said I will take the Safari only tomorrow eve as I wanted them to fix the krr krr.

Mileage ; 11.7kmpl

Costed 4300Rs almost. There was some steering play which was fixed. They also changed some bushes for idler arms or so. The water wash was superb!

Took the SA with me for a drive; he sure had a heart attack.

Good going JK! As far as the "new" tailgate latch is concerned, even my workshop hasn't heard of it - I'm wondering if it actually exists

Sumanji, saw this in pictorial on one of the thread posted on the forum but not able to recollect who had posted it.

Waiting to get it done on mine too.
