Another trip to Cochin from TRV.Got 11.8kmph with AC 100% for a full tank run.

Filled up on way back near Alapuzha and checked mileage when I reached TRV and some city drive. I got 13.5kmpl.

Thanks to diablomk (he two owns a July 09 PW 2.2L EX ), I met Perumal of Concorde Motors, Cochin. Perumal is considered an expert with Safari's and used to work on Steeroid's Dicor.

According to Perumal I need to get decarbonation, check on clutch pressure plate as I get throbbing jerks when I slowly release clutch, check turbo for fixing krr-krr. He also commented that my present TASS would be lazy to check the clutch coz they will have to dismantle it. I intent to drive down to Coc soon and give my Safari to Perumal to work on.

I drove diablomk's Safari and it was very smooth after Perumal worked on it.

Odo at 47800kms; Tata Safari 2.2L EX on Yokohama Geolander 235/70 R16

Changed tyres to Yokohama Geolander ATS 235/70 R16 at 5800Rs/tyre. Also filled it up with Nitrogen in all four tyres. I am pretty happy with the service/dealings of Speed Tyres, Cochin. I also got a Yoko T-shirt free.

Some pix of old tyres and new ones. I have retained the best stock tyre as the spare and have another at home. These two tyres would have last few thousand more easily.

Waiting to get it done on mine too.
It exists I posted the picture , but it is from Sumo Grande.
Ask your T.A.S.S to fit Sumo grande tail latch in your Safari.

After 2500 KM and 1000 KM atleast on bad roads I can confirm tail gate squeak is gone permanently

I have posted the part numbers in 2.2 VTT thread please check , In case your T.A.S.S fengs ignorence just but the sumo grande parts ( some 200 Rs) abased on part number from spare parts window at the T.A.S.S and then get it fitted by some friendly neighborhood mechanic.

Thanks jaggu. I am very happy with the tyres. The drive back from Cochin to Shertalla on the 4 way saw the Safari doing triple digits more faster coz I felt more grip and stability. Faster steering response.

amitk; thanks. I donno how I do it Maybe odo err.Hehe.

And thanks for revealing the secret!

so your choice ended up with the geolanders. Nice looking tyres man.

I think you dropped the idea of alloys( may be since you have a new member in ur family.hehe)

Thanks KP.

Jithu; I would need atleast 25-29 k just for new alloys. I saw a 255 on wider alloys at Speed Tyres; looked wow. And I think a 7J or 7.5J alloys will also give 235 a more wider look.

HappyWheels; the grip is too good. I am more confident in taking it to higher speeds than I was before.
