Hey Cedizens,
I saw a brand new Cedia yesterday. I was actually right behind it for a good 10 minutes. It was a Select model. I noticed that the rear looked quite different from the other Cedia's I had seen. It looked a bit more elegant.
So have they given the Cedia a face-lift, or to be precise, a butt-lift?

I have upgraded myself from NHC to Cedia on 10 Jun. It is pearl white select.
Nobody explained about the immobilizer!
I have done 3300kms plus on it, and it is actually very adictive. I have liked the braking very much especially after driving Honda City for 56000kms.

Immobilizer is not there in Cedia.
You can make duplicate key for your cedia but only the remote does not work.
If an immobilizer feature is there, any duplicate key will not work at all; we have get it only from the manufacturer. Thats' what i understood.

I have experienced rattling sound in my Cedia too. When my car reached around 1500 KMs, the front left door started rattling. It took me two visits to Lathangi to fix this issue. Another disturbing sound comes out from the dash upholstery - some kind of sliding sound, occasionally. One of my friend's Cedia also gives a rattling sound from the front right seat belt hook (krrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr sound) - again aoccassional but very distubing since it is very close to driver's ears.

Oiling the buckle of the seat belt helps. I had that issue for a while. Then disappeared after I put a drop of oil on the buckle. About the dash rattle... it comes in my car many a times. I've just given up on that one. They tried to fix it many a times but to no avail.

This is my understanding too. If the immobilizer is there, you can open the door (manualy, not remote), but the engine would not start or the vehicle would not move.

BTW in the new facelift Cedia, Mitsubishi has incorporated the immobilizer. It is specifically mentioned so and also explained that it cannot be started with an unauthorized key – so looks like they heard this thread.

Dear Mr Vishwam,

The current model of Cedia does not have an immobilizer.

Secondly, it is also not possible to program the Central Locking System
(CLS) for any sound indication, as Cedia does not have Security Alarm System.

Hope we have clarified your points.

Regards.

The new model Cedia does have immobilizer. Your mail from the customer service is dated May 2008 which is true for the old model.
