Hey djay. Why you changed the alloys ? Not happy with the performance ? And what is the cost ? What did you do with the old alloys?

I changed the alloys because of the burrr sound. Hyundai guys checked car thoroughly and told me that the problem is because of tires+alloys.
Then i mounted tires on stock rims and checked. Problem still exists.
Then i changed alloys (15", 6.5J) and tires.
Did 160KMPH yesterday on airport road and grip was amazing. Handling has improved a lot compared to 14" PP's. Also the body roll has come down.
Tyres are Maxxis Victra MA-Z1 205/50-15 89V.
one Alloy = 4.2K
One tire=4K
I asked him to buyback michelins at original price as they had some problem. He told me that michelin guys will not change tires as they are very sure about product quality. Anyways i think i lost some more money in this alloy and tire purchase but now i am happy that car looks very good and handling is amazing. Only downside is that ride quality is a bit harsh because of lower profile.
I gave 5 michelin tires and 4 P&W alloys to the same dealer.
How is the car looking?:D

The car looks good . Better than the previous one.
Well, i hope i dont get the same kind of problem when i put 195/60 XM1+ . I fought hard to get new alloys. Right now i am running stock tires only and that too running GPS2 as tubeless.
undead,
Did you remove tube? from the GPS2?\How is handling?
I did 175KMPH yesterday on nice road, bangalore. Car was under total control but braking was ok but not great.
15" tyres have improved handling a lot. I never felt confident with those 14" PP's while doing 140+
What is the top speed you have clocked?

Well , handling not that great . But i am getting little vibrations and i think that is because i removed the tube and the tire is taking all the strain. I did 150kmph in the GPS2 . I have driven 120 kmph in my Omni once. Compared to that it is betterlol:.
I cant shift to 15" as i cant afford to buy both the alloys and the tires at the same time. I will change only after this GPS2 has completely worn out . May go for Michelin Energy XM1+.
I went for a trip to a hill station and put this monster to a test in the ghat section. I will post that review about it soon..
Put to test in the Ghat Section
This was my first trip in my Getz to a hill station - Kodaikanal in Tamilnadu . I was excited as i wanted to see how this monster performs in the Ghat roads. There were totally 5 people onboard with stuffs packed in boot fully. The car's performance was just amazing. It went uphill with no troubles and i was cruising constantly at 60kmph in 3rd gear. Few hours later in kodaikanal i had to go through a very rough mud road with lots of stones , which was very steep up . It was like offroading. My dad said , keep your foot on the pedal at all times and dont release it to keep the car in motion. To both of our surprise , the car kept climbing in 1st gear WITHOUT touching the accelerator pedal . Both of us couldnt believe it as this is the first time we are experiencing it. The car stayed at the idle rpm in 1st gear and kept moving steadily . But in 2nd and 3rd gear you need to press the accelerator to move in the ghat section .
Below are some pictures.
1. The Silver Cascade Falls on the way to Kodaikanal
2. Scenery View
3. Kodaikanal Lake
4. My beautiful monster
5.Pillar Rock - a tourist place
6. The famous Boat House
7.Bryant Part - a place to have leisure time

Good pics undead. Man this car is amazing. On sunday i touched 175KMPH on nice road. Handling was fantastic on the 15 inchers. On highways cruising at 140 has become an easy task :D provided the road is empty.

My friend, i do appreacte the new tyres and the alloys and the rocking look that you car now has , but with all due respect doing 160 KMPH in airport road at any time is asking for trouble.Especially so when your tyres are new.
Do drive safe and enjoi !

Thanks djay. The car is amazing alright , you too put your car to test in ghat sections and check whether what i said in the above post was true . So far, 150kmph was my top and that too in stock tires. I think i found the solution for the vibration problems . The air pressure on front tires were 35psi. May be that caused the vibrations.

Point noted sir. Thank you.
Hey guys,
I have been facing few weird issue with my Getz Crdi. Please check it out and let me know.
1. There is plasticy noise from the roof near the rear view mirror. It comes when traveling over bad roads. By plasticy, I mean noise similar to when polythene bags are touched or moved :) (the best I can explain )
2. Even when the AC direction mode is set to above only, little air comes from near the foot vent. It makes my feet really cold sometimes and I've to move it away from the dead pedal.
3. When stationary and idle, when I press the brake pedal, I hear a noise coming from the area close to the left lower part of the dashboard.
Have clock 3 K kms till now and otherwise there are no issues.
Let me know,
Naman

@ naman - My answers to your queries -
1. Check if your sunvisors are not touching some part of the screen/roof when you hit a rough patch.
2. Get the duct sections checked at the service centre as they may not be working as desired i.e not opening/closing properly when you select the desired level.
3. The noise that you hear is from the fuse box as per my understanding, its only there when you have the brake pressed, So nothing to worry.
And yes, if am not wrong you were planning a himachal trip. Did you get to do that, if yes, could you post how the trip was and which route did you take.

2. Check it at the service centre.
3. I am getting the same sound even when applying the brake while driving. The service guy said its common in getz . Need to ask him to check it again during second service.

For your second problem just put your head under the steering and look behind the center console u would see two levers with a crankshaft like thing connected to them.
One lever controls the direction of air flow and the other one controls the cool/hot temperature control.
Play around with the levers accordingly and u will be able to correct air flow direction issue
