They already had experience of the Indian conditions with the Escort, Mondeo & Ikon, Jaggu! What more experience did they need??

It sounds like a lemon but definitely not because its one of the earlier ones; I would think its more of dealer apathy

I've heard about that from my brother too. He swears by Wasan who are far more proactive & responsive

EDIT: MM, what I couldn't figure out is - it seems to be a 2 year love-hate relationship, is there a reason why you didn't raise the roof with Ford earlier? Was it more because it was a chaffeur driven vehicle as compared to your other drives? I'm surprised because I remember GTO's post on the forum after he'd driven your vehicle & praised it quite a bit

Hey Monkey,

That;s terrible. Shaman thinks 5000 bucks is more than enough to be a balm for all the troubles you have been through ? Thank fully I did not face major issues with Shaman when I used them for servicing my iKon.

Take them to the cleaners. Escalate the matter to Ford India, magazines, news papers - demand for a new car.

If all fails - consumer court.

All the best man.

Thats awful monkey. Even 10 year old cars run a lot better & require bare minimum visits to the garage. Unless you make a lot of noise (as indians we are expected to), nothing much will come out of this to your benefit.

Its really sad to face so many problems with a car. Its sheer bad luck to have all the problems in a single car. But FORD needs to be pulled up. In my experience their customer care seems to respond well. Hope it works out for you too. But the dealers are incompetent I can tell from my own experience.

try another service station

i own a fiesta 1.4 d zxi. i have had no issues since purchase and i get mine serviced at bhavna ford nerul. it seems you have got a lemon. i actually suggest the fiesta to others because of its reliability and build. SO i am shocked by this report. to be honest it has got me worried and thinking if i have just been plain lucky so far. how many of us in team-bhp feel that this is a one off case and not all fiesta seem to go kaput?

Ford Has finally admitted to selling me a Defective car .

they are now trying to convince me to go in for a new Fiesta

Quote:
Dear Sir,
This is subsequent to the discussion you had with Mr. Ruchik Shah today regarding your Ford Fiesta 1.4 ZXi Diesel vehicle bearing VIN MAJBXXMRTB6JB8299.
Ford India would like to replace your existing vehicle with a new Fiesta 1.4 ZXi Diesel vehicle.
The On Road Price of the new vehicle is Rs. 8,79,692/- and the Buy Back value of your vehicle is Rs. 5,05,000/-.

The depreciation cost which is the difference between the new vehicle's cost and the buy back cost will be shared, with a 60% majority of the cost borne by Ford India and the balance 40% cost being borne by your good self.
Please accord your concurrence for the same so that we can go ahead and initiate the processing at our end.
Thanking you,
Regards,
Arun Nirmal
Manager – Technical Services
Ford India Pvt Ltd

now the question ..... why would i PAY more money to once again go through FORD's horrible After sales service and Customer service ........

i would rather just go buy a vehicle of a another more reliable manufacturer ...........

- take them to consumer court now with that email as proof.

Ask them to refund the entire cost of the car (including registration and insurance) + cost of diesel used till date + cost of service charges till date + cost of mental trauma for you (taxi charges, phone bills etc are extra) - else take them to court.

mad monkey are you willing to go through the entire process which one of our fellow bhpian has gone through??

showing their buy back option as a "great help" i guess they will the drag the case to new heights.

on the other hand, such car companies should learn how to provide service to indian car owners. This requires few (a lot) of us go through the pain.
