@Mods: Title change to "Grand Vitara - Not very long term report at 80000kms" or "GV - 80000kms in 18months - short term report"

Sudev Sir think you are going to close in on 100K on 2nd year anniversary of your vehicle.

Keep going sir and hope to see some detailed reports on your recent travels on the Vitara.

@gowda79: No it is not my intention to achieve any specific goal. On the other hand always looking for opportunities to drive and explore. GV gives me comfortable driving without tiring over long distances / hours and reliability.

Cannot really call it a short term report. With 80K, it is definitely long-term.

That is some driving you are doing, Sudev!

And the title is a good one - a short term report at 80k! ROFL!

Wishing you many more miles of safe and happy riding.

Yep it is short term report - 18 months only!!
And to top it all I got a complimented during the recent run for desert Storm by some one who sat in GV for a while and remarked that the vehicle was "sounding" not more that 15~20k old.

Incidentally Gaurav Chiripal participated in his Grand Vitara and won first prize in 4x4 TSD event Desert Storm '09 : N'Dure. Links to his facebook album

There seems to be a new Silver Edition available with 13 new accessories.
GRAND VITARA
Are these really new or available in the tbhp Vitara owners vehicles too?

I can tell you what they are. When I purchased the GV, I was shown an accessories catalogue which contained exactly these items and some more. After looking at most of the cosmetic items and laughing at their ridiculous price tags, I zeroed in on couple of useful items. I remember groceries net in the trunk and some other useful stuff. That they didn't have, even though the catalogue listed it. In other words they had no accessory that was useful, just expensive zing-bang stuff.

And I suspect nobody else is buying them either. So this is their strategy to sell those unsold cosmetic items.

Okay so there is GRV.
And tuner's inc was planning to buy one. Who else is owning a GV?

And I agree with Samurai that almost all the additional OE accessories were pretty useless, not to mention expensive. I did buy tyre splash guards using the discount that was offered (applicable only towards accessories).

I am another proud owner of Grand Vitara. I have purchased it in late Oct-08 and clocked 13000 kms till date. I would post the photograph of GV shorthly.
