Rattling + an insensitive Horn button - a small DIY solution.

The horn button used to rattle once in a while but one strong tap on it used to make it disappear.
But, the current running on bad rain affected cratered roads have taken a toll on them and tapping no longer works.

Also, since last week the horn was only working when pressed at couple of locations.

One free sunday and awesome weather turned out to be an ideal combo for a DIY.

Carbon deposit looked like a possible reason for an insensitive horn button.
Cleaned it with a dry cloth and fixed it back.
VOILA !! Problem solved.

Thats a nice pictorial description. Thanks for this. In case we ever face this issue, we now know what needs to be done. Helps save the trip to service centre

After a long long search, got the synthetic (based) gear oil from Hyundai itself.
2L - Rs 1500 (inclusive taxes)

All Hyundai diesel and automatic variants come with synthetic gear oil from factory but as a refill Hyundai has given the service centers only the mineral type gear oil.
Mainly, due to the cost factor. Synthetic costs almost 3 times. When they launched Verna they had synthetic but customers had preference for the cheaper option of mineral.

Apart from the long life, does it help smoothening out gear transmission? As in does it help remove the notchy feel when shifting gears?

That's a lot of dust for a 2000kms run,right?

And will it help if one changes gear oil more frequently? like 20k /30k?

Random AC Test.
Didn't follow any SOP (Std Operating Procedure) Just went about it with my own logic.

Outside Temp - 39 C
Grill Temp - 13.x C
Front seat temp - 21.x C
Rear Seat Temp - 23.x C

Operating Time - 15mins
AC on full blast.

@KP: Even i had to search for synthetic gear oil for my Elantra. The dealerships generally stock only the mineral gear oil. I'll search the bill to compare the cost details.

I think it does, but can't be sure unless we try mineral oil in the same gearbox.
PW got it changed & felt the roughness in gear change.

Not required IMO. Even the mineral gear oil have a change interval of 30~50k kms.

Ya, even i searched a lot, almost ended up sourcing FUCHS from Germany. Then, at the last moment the HMP fellas told me that they have it in stock & hardly anyone has ever asked for one so they never mentioned about it.

Guilty as Charged

Here you go, a small review.

MONROE SENSATRAC
Rear Dampers
Total kms done - 5000 kms

PROS
1. Make no mistake, the Korean rocket now goes like a stink.
2. Braking is more progressive, absolutely no nose dip and there's so much of confidence while braking at high speeds.
3. The car's absolutely planted at any speed even while changing lanes. There's no waving feel and no hint of the tail
coming out.

CONS
1. Firm ride at the back. Its not horrible, just some better cushion seat would make it better. Mind you, its only in
the rear, in front you won't feel it.
2. Steering has become a tad lighter. Which i guess is due to weight balance which has shifted to the rear. The car
feels as if there's 300kg load at the back.
3. Lot of stress of tires/ chassis & passengers
