Sounds delicious

Did you change to the 'roes coz the stock was end of life? IIRC, you changed it after 60k right? And how much did they cost? How about the dampers in the front, can they be modded similarly?

After you put the thought in my head that my verna dampers have only run 32000km so far, I'm also having second thoughts about the monroes.
I'm also worried about ride quality.
Though I did get clearance regarding the warranty thing. No problems on that front if I do decide to go for it.

No, stock suspension were working fine. Would have lasted 100k kms i guess.

Not required, IMO. I find this as the perfect combo.
The stock front suspension is quite robust and not so soft.

Its a stock replacement so you can revert back anytime.

re: kpzen to kpgetz : Two Getz CRDi's join the family !! - 77,777 kms

Hi Guys,
I bought my Getz CRDI in July 09. Waited till I did 30000k. Once I crossed that mild stone realized... Nows the time to burn up the wheels and get some adrenaline flowing... These are the mods I've done so far:

Petes Box- Set it to the no. 2 setting to have more fun... The 1st setting was too boring or I just got used to it...lol..

Greens Filter - It wasn't in stock and had to wait for 1 week after I got petes to find out the true power. Never the less could test it both with it and without it...

Wheels+Tyres - HRS 15" alloys with Yokohama 205/15 tyres.. Need to stop the beast yeah...

Usual stuff-- Stereo(Pioneer), JBL Speakers+Amp+Sub...

Next what??-- Dunno depends on what I can get my hands onto.. Thinking of tuning it on the dyno and adding on the shift light when I get the graphs on paper..

Max Speed I've touched so far is 210km/h...Think it will touch more.. not had the road to do it.. Will post the video when I get a chance to do it next...
Have modified cars before but not a diesel car... looks fun...

Let me know your comments...

Pranav

Glad to know that you are also having a blast with the car, Its a rare specie, don't think we 'll ever get a car with such raw power in future.

1. How many kms has your car done so far ?
2. How did you set the +2 setting ? Is the dial at 5'o clock position ?
3. How often do you clean the green filter ?
My green filter gets clogged too soon, right now i'm cleaning it every 1500kms i.e every 2~3 weeks. When i tried the Petes with +2 setting, my green filter got sucked in by the engine

Yes, that's correct. Now that I know synthetic oil is available at the workshop, I'm planning a change back to Synthetic in the next service. Thanks kpzen.

2.5 yrs and 72000 kms. The car's still packs a punch.
Bought this car with a mindset of use, enjoy and dispose at 50k kms.
Looks like its gonna last longer.

Nice shots there!! Our rocket has no replacement in sight in the market, so here's for a scores of miles to come!!!

The Rs per KM figure seems amiss - all the individual values are less than 2.50 bucks, yet the final tally works to 2.99?

Spot on. My mistake.

Total Rs was divided by 50000 instead of 70000.
Correct figure is 2.14

No, still running on factory rims.

The car is nearing the 80k mark.

Recently, the car started bouncing weirdly while going over the bumps. Culprit - Stabilizer rod bushes were worn out.
Replaced them, total expense Rs 400 (approx, tax inclusive)
MRP on part - Rs 64 and billing price Rs 154 per bush

lol;loved the last line. Why not get the CAI? Have ever seen the mod setting (knob's?) pix. Can you post that too?

racedriver: the i20 too is a CRDi? I guess you too should get the Monroe.

80k in less than 3 yrs?? WOW.. thats an amazing run. What do you do to get such running?

Your car is beautifully maintained and looks as good as new. Great going.

How's the engine doing with the Pete's? I guess this would be a long termer for the Pete's equipped Getz. Wanted to know if you see more smoke coming now, or any dip in performance.
