Actually, now i've slowed down a bit. There was a time when i was averaging 230 kms in a day and also did 6000kms in a week.

Engine is fine, still reaches 200kph. Clutch is getting harder and also a bit weak.
Car has run a total of 65k kms with Petes box. Whenever there's smoke, its an indicator to clean the air filter. Once the air filter is cleaned, smoke vanishes.

@ Prajesh - Getz comes with CAI ? You mean factory fitted ? Where is it located ? Sorry, not clear from the picture.

@ Prajesh - a little OT. Initially in my Getz CRDi, 2000 rpm corresponded to 100 kmph. But now the speedo is showing only 90 kmph for the same rpm. I'm on stock tyres and stock rims. No mods done.

5th Gear, 2k RPM is ~90 KMPH. Not sure how it was 100 KMPH earlier.

Try to follow the air flow route.
I'll try to post a pic by tomorrow.

Interesting!! I am just back from work (I was in work when I posted the earlier post), and did confirm that it is 90 @ 2000 RPM in my ride. Am running on 185/65 R14 now (same as you!) - don't know what else is different! 100 comes at 2100 RPM or so.

Other rocket riders - confirm the 100 KMPH RPM please.

Your Clutch is slipping.
My cousin's clutch was gone when it started doing 100 @ 2200 RPM.

Re: kpzen to kpgetz : Two Getz CRDi's join the family !! - 77,777 kms

@ pho3n!x :- Yes, that's what I'm getting; 100 @ 2100. But I'm damn sure it was 100 @ 2000 earlier. But not sure when it changed and why ..

@ Prajesh :- But my rocket is only 12K done though it is 2 years old. A clutch slip so early ? I had pointed it out to the Hyundai A.S.S. here but he didn't take it a serious issue..

Re: kpzen to kpgetz : Two Getz CRDi's join the family !! - 77,777 kms

For testing clutch do this
Pull handbrake with car stationary
Put car in 5th gear
take your foot very slowly off the clutch without touching the accelerator.
If your car keeps idling, time for a new clutch. Otherwise, its fine.

Do not worry too much about 100kmph at 2000 rpm or 2100 rpm.

rpm meters are not perfect and a 30-40rpm variation here or there is common.

Getz has a huge RPM meter unlike some other cars like Figo. Difference of 100~200 RPM is noticeable.

What size tires are you using ?

When you slowly release clutch of the parked car, if the clutch is slipping, the car will not stall.
However, if clutch is fine, the engine will stall

Its not just the readability, its also the accuracy. RPM meters may not be completely accurate.

Re: kpzen to kpgetz : Two Getz CRDi's join the family !! - 77,777 kms

My car stalls with the handbrake on alright.

Here are the 2000 RPM speeds I tested today:
2nd - 35 KMPH
3rd -50 KMPH
4th - 70 KMPH
5th - 90 KMPH
5th - 100 KMPH @ ~2100 to 2200 RPM

The only thing I noticed was that the car is reaching 180 like always, but crossing 180 KMPH seemed tough - I never got it like I was able to when it was new. It was used for 3k KM by a few from my family when I was not in town, including not-so-great drivers - don't want to do a clutch job at 40k KM itself

The variation of this clutch test is to test it in the 3rd gear - atleast for the swift - that's how the GM of Apra Auto demonstrated it to me.

Re: kpzen to kpgetz : Two Getz CRDi's join the family !! - 77,777 kms

^^ Would this clutch test work even in a diesel Bolero??
If the low end torque is more should one go to higher gear? say 5th?

Re: kpzen to kpgetz : Two Getz CRDi's join the family !! - 77,777 kms

I'll check today at what rpm mine touches 100 (5th gear). I only remember that @ 1600 rpm, 5th gear equates to 75-80kmph. I think 100 comes around 2000 or slightly above.
