Congrats!

Never have i experienced such a vicious kick in my back and it scared me so much that I had to back off.

I swear had I tried something like this on a busy road, I would have ended up driving straight into the car in front of me.

Took a moment to assimilate my thoughts. Calm my nerves down.

Try again. Same unbelievable surge from the engine. Mummyyyy .:P

Trust me guys, take a TD.

You won't rest until you have one sitting pretty in your garage!

@humyum

As I don't have a tacho, can you tell me what is the approximate speed that you hit 2000 rpm in 2nd and 3rd gears ?
I am not totally sure about this but its around 40 kmph that u reach 2000 rpm in 2nd gear and at 60 in 3rd gear. Not sure.I ll check and let you know tomorrow.

I shift from 3rd to 4th @ 80

Guys need to got the ICE fixed.I cant make head or tail of anything in the ICE section for the swift, hence posting it here.

Budget is around 12 thousand

Was quoted
Pioneer 3050 - Rs 5200 minus bill and warranty ( good enough?)
JBL 938 - 2800 minus bill and warranty ( fair price?)
And which speakers in the front? I want JBL's in the front too

Please let me know ASAP.I am getting it fixed tomorrow or day after.
Please please pretty please.

@d3mon
at 2000rpm in 2nd- my swift does 35-40kmph
in 3rd- 50-55kmph

I'm giving you a range, because I dont have the time to watch both the tacho and the speedo at the same time, especially when the boost kicks in at 2000 without much subtlety! I have to be watching the road

3rd gear at 4000rpm is 90kmph, but you're better off upshifting to 4th at 70 or so for best acceleration on the highways.
I'm still trying to figure out the best shift points in a simple 0-100 test.

@rippergeo and humyum

Thanks a lot for your inputs.
By the way I figured it out on my own. Quick trip to Overdrive - India's No.1 Car & Bike Magazine and then to the specifications of the swift vdi led me to the kmph/1000 rpm figures in all gears !!
here they are
Gear Ratio
Overall Ratio
Kmph per 1000rpm
1st 3.54
13.98
8.00
2nd 1.90
7.50
14.92
3rd 1.23
4.86
23.02
4th 0.91
3.59
31.16
5th 0.72
2.85
39.26
So 2000rpm works out to be 30 kmph in 2nd, 47 in 3rd, 62 in 4th and 80 in 5th.
Now we know all the magic numbers !!!

BTW this info is from the following link : Maruti Suzuki Swift VDi : Overdrive

All yours partner. I got the line from someones tag line on team-bhp. Never the less in 6 to 7 hours since i got it, Boy racers defininately got my mileage down

and and ripper when u get the sticker made, make sure that guy knows how to install stickers on a swift, as the curvature of the rear glass really requires skills to make it looks good and neat.

Got JBL 947's for the rear
JBL 608c component speakers in the front with crossovers below the deck
enclosure and tweeters on the dashboard end
Pioneer 5050 Headunit

Rear speakers fixed on MFD tray

AND MAN O MAN, DOES JBL ROCK OR WHAT.

Anathema - Fragile Dreams sounds like GOD SUNG IT
Du Hast sounds like, THIS IS LIFE
Darude - Sandstorm Sounds like, If life shoud end,it should after listening
to this a gazzilion times.

I am loving every moment of the sound system, just went on a drive to listen and headbang and at volume 50 it was as crisp and clear as it was at 20.

Swift + brilliant music system + turbo + objects in the rear view mirror quickly disappear = MAN MADE MIRACLE.

Thats really interesting, now finally my punch line is getting some recognition, good to see that you got the sticker for that, enjoy all the attention. it goes well with Swift as it does with Magnum. But honestly i never thought of making sticker of that tag line, it is a real good idea

oh man all your posts are turbocharged. But yeah anyone in a swift DDis will feel so.
Me too does not miss out on any chance to drive it, when ever I am in my brother in laws house. Really addictive and miss that kick when i am driving other cars
Honestly I would love to have that kick get activated a little earlier(rpm) though.
