I guess it is adjusted by the turns given to the spark plug after it is seated in the position.

Anurag, I think what he wants to know is about the gap between the central electrode and the ground electrode.

Congrats for the 210k milestone. Undoubtedly the best maintained car I've seen till date.

I feel you should intimate Maruti before selling (if you ever do) as they would preserve the car as a priced possession and keep it as a showcase for excellence.:D

Why would one need to adjust a stock spark plug gap beyond or below the specified limits? At least I have never done that.

In fact, if you buy the specific model plug as mentioned in the manual, they are most likely to come with a preset gap that would meet the manufacturer recommendations.

For instance, NGK DCPR7E is the stock plug for the F10D WagonR and the manual says 0.8-0.9mm as the Gap. This is the gap that is set on the Plug and clearly mentioned on the carton of the Set of Plugs too.

However, just in case while cleaning these plugs if I need to check the gap, I usually take a piece of Sun Mica (Laminate) of 0.8mm thickness and measure that. I have been doing this since my Kinetic Honda days!


Thanks a ton Anurag and there is no question on whether I am even "thinking" to sell my WagonR. That is never going to happen. This has not bothered me with any breakdowns or troubles even today on some of the continuous and longest drives even in the recent past.

Regarding intimating Maruti on the 200k with the Engine and Gearbox untouched, I had done that along with "complementing & Complimenting" Photographs with the whole team from the ASC copying the regional head along with a few email IDs they had given me.

I never even received any response from Maruti Whatsoever and to be honest, I was a bit let down with that episode that there was not even a standard response from their customer support team.

I guess they don't want to advertise or highlight long lasting cars which would prevent one from upgrading it to the next one.

I was visiting this ASC from day 1 till about 147,000 kms till I was started visiting another ASC due to a connection from my home town and the feedback from many. Even then, I made it a point to visit these folks with some sweets and share the ODO number and they were more than happy to pose with the trusted machine. After all, they were not bad at all and I still visit them on casual basis.

The torn rear bumper is not changed since the first time it was ripped out by a bike's crashguard. I DIY fitted that back in place by pasting the torn area.

Around 2 months ago, there was a 1,69,000 kms run WagonR for sale at a True Value dealer here in Jaipur and to be frank that was the first time i had seen a car other than Innova/Qualis with that many digits on the odo. Now i'm seeing yours and truly impressed with the reliability of this great car.

A car speaks a lot about its owner. Hats off to you sir for maintaining your car in such a top condition.
Will be waiting for the 2.50 lakhs kms update. :)

No Akshait they are not stock. As you can see, they are retrofitted after buying Type 3 WagonR mirrors.

The Stock are flat and offered me horrible views specially on 6 lane roads whenever I had to assess traffic in lanes next to me. I released the need for convex mirrors when I drove the Honda City to Gujarat from Bangalore in March 2011.

In Oct 2011, as a preparation for another drive to Gujarat, this time in the WagonR I bought these ones from MGP dealer and fitted them.

Ever since, I have been using them for the wonderful wide view on highways along with those blind spots near the rear quarter panel within city driving.

Hi Parag. This is my most favourite thread in the entire forum and i mean it.

You are the inspiration to get a WargonR. Right from our school days most of the time we used speak about bikes and cars. Buying a car was the prime aim in my life then.

This Feb'2013, I was blessed with a May'2008 F10D Blue WagonR. I was hunting for him with TrueValue.(Yes its a "he" for me.) for more than 6months. It was like he found me and rather that i found him.

It was just 6343 kms on the odo when he reached me. Now 9150 on the odo as on this date.

All the while i was a laconic observer. Now i felt, i better share this atleast now.

My ownership review shall be shared sooner.

I had told about your car, the GQs you made and how you have kept your car etc., to my service people at maruti service center where i service. They were astounded.

I am planning to get tacho fitted next and i love the way you have done that.

Hats off to you on still having the run and using it for daily requirements of travel.
Most of people i had come across would simply sell there cars around 1 Lakh kms run and buy new one.
I guess, there is kind of emotional attachment btw your car and you.

I own 2010 F10D (particularly bought it when K-Series was launched) and T-BHP forums showed what K-Series was technically, before launched.

I guess one thing i miss in my car is Tachometer, since itz lxi version.

Does any of waggy owners tried any of aftermarket tachos, and there availability in Bangalore.?

Simply go for the Ritz Tacho. Read a few pages back on same thread and you'll find how I have installed the Ritz Tachometer.
