nicely written, esp the roofrails. also the bumper case, well its the case with all cars which donot have body colored bumpers - so chill. I guess driving at 45kmph and 5th gear will give you good mileage.

I love your writing style Anjan. So honest and from the heart and bereft of all the shakespearean adage I throw about. Always brings a smile to my face. Balle balle indeed!

Thanks tanwaramit but I also feel the Scorpio looks really bald without the roof rails. Its like a rooster without its signature, red comb.
As regards the 45kmph-fifth gear runs, M&M also recommend that we not change gears too frequently, in their manual.

Thanks Venky - coming from one who has a five star thread I'm on cloud nine. No I do not agree, your reviews are simply a class above! Do keep the reviews coming. Would also like to see something like the gear lever Linga sequel.

A Scorpio Quiz
-

Q. Which body appendage on the Scorpio other than its tyres, gets the most dirt (and also pebbles maybe) in the shortest possible time?

A. The running footboard.

agreed. roof rails look good on some of the cars and scorpio is one of them. also looked good to me in a WagonR (I dont own either of the two)

You were quite quick to answer the quiz , may be next time give it a day so that we can guess.

OK Amit and Venky, here's another one:

Q Whats supposedly the best way the Scorpio driver can adopt, to hear all the emanating growl and grunt from the mHawk engine?

Another poser I want to put is that the fifth gear seems to have some kind of an auto pilot system ,because when I engage the fifth gear, the throttle even if at the minimum, makes the beast move on and on effortlessly. When the throttle is pushed, the beast exceeds 50kmph depending on the quantum of the push.
Actually, if the throttle is at the minimum, the engine rpm must be much below 1000, but the fifth gear changes equations between the gearbox and the mighty engine.
Is this common for all Scorpios?

@ anjan: maybe drive it at 70 kmph in 2nd gear with glass rolled down!

about the auto pilot system (LOL), well if you try once, you can cruise till speeds of 40-45 kmph without having to press the throttle even once, try it. it works fine for city conditions.

Anup the quiz answer is OK but has not hit the Bulls Eye. The answer by Raj hits the Bulls Eye.

Sadly have not been still able to check the stepney air pressure ever since I bought this beast.
The stepney may be singin' an oldie by Franki Valley, "Our Day Will Come"!!!
The Bridgestone Duelers are doing their job only too well.Find them a notch better than some other very popular brands.
