@anjan:

Try to find a good paint shop That is a lot of money to touch up scratches etc at the Authorized center.

I was told 18K for painting the whole cladding in black as in previous VLX model, I just said a big NO, anyway I have seen and talk with the sales and service related to a new model created by "sales" this is basically a LX model with body color cladding, bumper, fog lamp, parking sensor and even the VLX sticker with additional cost that is substantially lower than VLX. A very innovative Idea and they told me this was the highest selling model !!!

Your SUV as such looks fine as such and there's no need for those kind of jobs.
Here are some pictures of my BRUTE SUV with the new paint scheme at the A.S.S.The fog lights are on the floor waiting to be fitted.

At the A.S.S. they charged me something above Rs 9000 (something like Rs 9500).The Rs 1400 was for painting a dented surface on the rear right side.

Thanks amit, true the costs were higher for a job well done!I'll get the stalk fitted soon and also post the pictures.
And the VLX, ha ha! Maybe I will have to keep a lady seated inside, manually talking in the voice assist mode and telling us about the SUV's needs etc.
I enquired and the A.S.S. told me that the voice assist is only factory fitted and cannot be done elsewhere.

LOL! but before adding VLX badge, you will have to add claddings & add alloys too!

otherwise you will end up looking like some wannabes who paste 4x4 stickers on the 2WD marutis, fiats & even scorpios!

or like mumbai auto drivers who paste merc, honda, BMW, toyota & even audi logos.

Yes Raj that Ferrari says it all. I drove it and found it too cute to handle despite the gremlins.Have also put a thread describing my test drive.

Amit The beast is fit as a fiddle and is doing very well.Touchwood, not a single scratch since the body coloured bumpers were painted and the SUV delivered on 22/01/2010. Got to fix the rear right power window which is not working after the 2nd Service.Have told the A.S.S. to inform about the fog light control switch.When that is acquired by the dealer I 'll go down and also get the PW work done.
Long trips are not planned as yet but may come by at short notice.

Wow,

This is a really long thread, its like the bible for those interested in the Scorpio.

Congrats Anjan and everyone else on the purchase, might take me a couple of years of saving to be able to buy the beast but still its worth reading the bible before getting baptized.

Btw is the Scorpio Special edition any good or would it be better to go with the regular one rather than pay the extra premium.
