Yeah, I am torn between continuing with the T. Mist and moving to Canary Yellow.

The white roof looks awesome on the Mini but I am not sure if it will suit the Palio. Try getting it in Photoshop before deciding.

If the roof is white - white wheels will compliment it perfectly, I personally prefer brushed aluminium or Grey (Titanium / Magnesium) or Silver for alloys. When picking up alloys, make sure that they are 98 PCD.

Cheers,

Sir, I would honestly like to suggest Vocal White with blacked out pillars and your present alloy wheels. Will look HOT!

I think you should stick to the T. Mist. This is a beautiful colour. I will have the white roof soon as well as the white wheels, I might stick on to the OE alloys and have them painted matt.

Did some PS on a fellow BHPian's Palio! (google image search)
I think, Vocal white + Linea alloys + Matte black roof (could not do as not much space available in the image) will look great!

Of colours, schemes etc.

Hmm, white roof on a T.Mist car with matte white telephone dials......... sounds interesting if not dowright wicked! When you do it, please post pics that car is bound to be a head turner.

Thanks Nazim for that PS work as per Frank's suggestion. Frank is right, it does look HOT and the black rubbing strip and stone guard on the running board just make it look hotter. The Palio looks kinda stubby without those horizontal lines increasing its length.

I was toying with several colours and schemes etc. and was looking through some pics on the net. I managed to hunt out some I had saved for the purpose of making up my mind and am posting them here for the purpose of study and discussion. Here goes (thinking aloud).

I wonder how racing stripes will look? (Like on these minis).

Classic racing stripes:

Or wide set stripes (This one has a white roof!)

Perhaps a free flowing (form) line below the windows as in this one (Please ignore the other advertising and graphics - I like only the red line just below the windows) :

Or even some dramatic diagonals like at the rear of this car:

Maybe the muted 'R' livery stripes as on this 1.8 (needs to be changed to 1.6 for our purposes):

Now you guys have got me thinking about painting my car just when I managed to push it onto the back burner, courtesy the recession.

Cheers,

Ravs !!!! Please please please stick to a neatly cut plain Italian suit more than choosing to dress your baby in Fila!.

Dont want you to be looking like an East London fella lost on the streets of India with an Identity crisis , lol

For a moment, I thought, some-one bleached my car But in reality, the white looks damn good on a Palio (Retro).

Raveendra, if you looking at getting your car painted to CY or for that matter any color, why don't you get yourself the s10 fenders? They look awesome. If you need help in getting the part no's and stuff, I would be glad to help you out

The black on the Palio is a stunner too, called Galaxy black. Its more a dark grey metallic. Lovely shade. Strongly showcases the lines of the car.

I have hardly seen black Palios too, there is a lovely black 1.6GTX in my town. Watch this space closely, there might be a sequel to my Tangerine Mist . Hopefully.

Green Cotton Filter

I put in a Green Cotton filter (stock replacement), it cost me about Rs. 3600/-. At the same time I removed the cracked air-inlet pipe and wound tape (several layers) over the part that was cracked.

The pick up has improved marginally and the top end speeds are higher with the new filter. The new filter is less noisy than the stock paper filter too.

Chandan has acquired a dashboard clock (Rs.2800) for me to replace the blown clock in my car. It is lying in the glove compartment and needs to be fixed one morning when Nayyer is available.

All painting plans on hold till almost summer of 2010, due to some financial commitments and travel plans.

Cheers,

Nice to see some progress on your GTX Ravveendrra. Besides getting all the mechanicals working fine in my new acquisition there has been no further work done. For the paint job, I remember reading elsewhere on the forums that it you change the original colour of your car you may lost the electrostatic coating which prevents rust. While you have postponed your plans of re-painting, you may want to check on that aspect more fully. Incidentally, I came to Abu Dhabi last week and just watched the F1 Grand Prix at the Yas Marina circuit yesterday. It is the first ever day-night race. The noise that these F1 cars produce is simply unbelievable. A TV broadcast does no justice whatsoever. Was here for the whole 4 days and eve did a wlkthough of the pit lane and got up close with all the action. Saw the GP2 and Porsche races as well. All in all, a fantastic experience.
